AVN School Students Hold Public Awareness Rally Against Drug Abuse
Sabse Tez Khabar / Nahan
Students from classes 9 to 12 of the local AVN Senior Secondary School organized a public awareness rally today to combat the growing menace of drug abuse in society. According to School Principal K.K. Chandola, students from the senior wing—supported by the social organization Lions Club—endeavored to raise public awareness against the rising trend of substance abuse. The rally traversed a route covering Naya Bazar, Mahima Library Chowk, the Gurudwara, Delhi Gate, Bada Chowk, Gunnu Ghat, Mall Road, and Chaugan; approximately 450 students and teachers participated in the event. Addressing the students prior to the rally, the Principal remarked that the nation's youth face a grave threat from drugs today. He stated that the prevalence of various forms of substance abuse is a malicious attempt to lead the nation's future astray, a menace that must be eradicated entirely through collective effort. On this occasion, Lions Club office-bearers also advised the students to stay away from drugs and channel their boundless energy into constructive activities. Lions Club President Piyush Garg, along with office-bearers Sanjay Chauhan, Sukhdev Chauhan, Vikas Bansal, Vineet Bansal, and Saurabh Garg, as well as the entire teaching staff of the school, were present at the event.
