मंगलवार सुबह देहरादून-पांवटा साहिब-शिमला राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग पर स्थित बाता पुल के समीप एक दर्दनाक हाद*सा पेश आया। तेज रफ्तार टिप्पर और ट्रक के बीच आमने-सामने की जोरदार भिड़ंत हो गई। टक्कर इतनी भीषण थी कि एक ट्रक संतुलन खोकर बीच सड़क पर ही पलट गया। हादसा होते ही बाता पुल के दोनों छोरों पर वाहनों का आवागमन पूरी तरह ठप्प हो गया। शिमला और देहरादून की ओर आवाजाही करने वाले यात्रियों तथा स्थानीय लोगों को घंटों जाम में जूझना पड़ा। व्यस्त मार्ग होने के कारण देखते ही देखते पुल के दोनों ओर गाड़ियों की लंबी-लंबी कतारें लग गईं। हादसे की सूचना मिलते ही पुलिस टीम ने तुरंत मौके पर पहुँचकर स्थिति का जायजा लिया। क्रेन की मदद से सड़क पर पलटे वाहन को हटाने और यातायात व्यवस्था को दोबारा सुचारू करने का कार्य शुरू किया गया। प्राथमिक जानकारी के अनुसार हादसा वाहनों की अनियंत्रित गति के कारण हुआ माना जा रहा है। राहत की बात यह रही कि फिलहाल किसी जान-माल के बड़े नुकसान की खबर नहीं है। हादसे के सही कारणों और घायलों की स्थिति को लेकर पुलिस द्वारा पूरी गहनता से जांच की जा रही है।

A serious accident occurred on Tuesday morning near the Bata Bridge on the Dehradun-Paonta Sahib-Shimla National Highway. A speeding tipper and a truck collided head-on with great force. The impact was so severe that one of the trucks lost its balance and overturned right in the middle of the road. Immediately following the accident, vehicular movement on both ends of the Bata Bridge came to a complete standstill. Travelers commuting towards Shimla and Dehradun, as well as locals, were stuck in a traffic jam for hours. As it is a busy route, long queues of vehicles quickly formed on both sides of the bridge. Upon receiving news of the accident, a police team promptly arrived at the scene to assess the situation. Operations to remove the overturned vehicle using a crane and to restore the flow of traffic were initiated. Preliminary information suggests that the accident was caused by the uncontrolled speed of the vehicles. Fortunately, there are no reports of major casualties or loss of life so far. The police are conducting a thorough investigation into the exact cause of the accident and the condition of those injured.
