राज्यपाल ने दिया पर्यावरण संरक्षण का संदेश, शिमला विश्वविद्यालय में चला 'एक पेड़ माँ के नाम' अभियान

शिमला: एपीजी शिमला विश्वविद्यालय में सोमवार को 'एक पेड़ माँ के नाम' अभियान के तहत पौधरोपण कार्यक्रम का आयोजन किया गया। हिमाचल प्रदेश के राज्यपाल कविंदर गुप्ता ने मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में कार्यक्रम में भाग लेते हुए पौधरोपण किया और पर्यावरण संरक्षण का संदेश दिया। विश्वविद्यालय प्रशासन ने पारंपरिक हिमाचली टोपी, शॉल और स्मृति चिह्न भेंट कर उनका स्वागत किया। कार्यक्रम को संबोधित करते हुए राज्यपाल ने कहा कि पेड़ हमारे जीवन का आधार हैं और केवल पौधे लगाना ही पर्याप्त नहीं, बल्कि उनकी देखभाल करना भी प्रत्येक नागरिक की जिम्मेदारी है। उन्होंने प्रधानमंत्री के 'एक पेड़ माँ के नाम' अभियान को प्रकृति और मातृभूमि के प्रति जिम्मेदारी का प्रतीक बताते हुए युवाओं से हर वर्ष कम से कम एक पौधा लगाने का संकल्प लेने की अपील की। उन्होंने पर्यावरण संरक्षण के साथ-साथ समाज को नशामुक्त बनाने का भी आह्वान किया। इस अवसर पर विद्यार्थियों ने पर्यावरण संरक्षण पर आधारित सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रम, पोस्टर मेकिंग प्रतियोगिता, डोगरी नृत्य और हिमाचली नाटी प्रस्तुत कर कार्यक्रम को आकर्षक बनाया। राज्यपाल ने प्रतियोगिता के विजेता विद्यार्थियों को सम्मानित किया और कहा कि वृक्षारोपण भविष्य की पीढ़ियों के सुरक्षित और स्वस्थ जीवन के लिए सबसे बड़ा निवेश है। कार्यक्रम में वन विभाग, पुलिस प्रशासन, स्थानीय पंचायत प्रतिनिधि, विश्वविद्यालय के शिक्षक, कर्मचारी और बड़ी संख्या में छात्र-छात्राएं उपस्थित रहे।

Shimla: A tree plantation program under the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' (A Tree in the Name of Mother) campaign was organized at APG Shimla University on Monday. Himachal Pradesh Governor Kavinder Gupta participated in the event as the chief guest, planted a sapling, and conveyed a message regarding environmental conservation. The university administration welcomed him by presenting a traditional Himachali cap, a shawl, and a memento. Addressing the gathering, the Governor stated that trees are the foundation of our lives and that merely planting saplings is not enough; caring for them is the responsibility of every citizen. Describing the Prime Minister's 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign as a symbol of responsibility towards nature and the motherland, he urged the youth to pledge to plant at least one sapling every year. He also called for making society drug-free alongside environmental conservation. On this occasion, students made the event engaging by presenting cultural programs focused on environmental conservation, a poster-making competition, Dogri dance, and Himachali Nati. The Governor honored the winning students and remarked that tree plantation is the greatest investment for the safe and healthy lives of future generations. Representatives from the Forest Department, police administration, and local panchayats, along with university faculty, staff, and a large number of students, were present at the event.
