राजकीय महाविद्यालय पांवटा साहिब और राजकीय महाविद्यालय शिलाई में सत्र 2026-27 के लिए अभिभावक-शिक्षक संघ (PTA) की आम सभा आयोजित कर नई कार्यकारिणियों का गठन किया गया। दोनों महाविद्यालयों में आयोजित बैठकों में प्राध्यापकों, अभिभावकों एवं PTA सदस्यों ने भाग लिया। बैठकों का मुख्य उद्देश्य महाविद्यालय के शैक्षणिक एवं विकासात्मक कार्यों में अभिभावकों की सक्रिय भागीदारी सुनिश्चित करना रहा। राजकीय महाविद्यालय पांवटा साहिब में इससे पूर्व पिछले माह दूसरे शनिवार को PTA की आम सभा बुलाई गई थी, लेकिन आवश्यक कोरम पूरा न होने के कारण इसे स्थगित करना पड़ा था। इस बार पर्याप्त संख्या में सदस्यों की उपस्थिति के बाद सभा की कार्यवाही पूरी की गई। महाविद्यालय के प्राचार्य डॉ. जगदीश चौहान ने पिछली PTA कार्यकारिणी को भंग करते हुए नई कार्यकारिणी के गठन की प्रक्रिया शुरू करवाई, जिसके बाद सदस्यों ने सर्वसम्मति से नई कार्यकारिणी का गठन किया। पांवटा साहिब कॉलेज की नई कार्यकारिणी में श्यामलाल पुंडीर को अध्यक्ष, महेंद्र कपूर को उपाध्यक्ष, डॉ. सुशील तोमर को सचिव, प्रवेश कुमार को संयुक्त सचिव तथा रूप सिंह चौहान को कोषाध्यक्ष चुना गया। इसके अलावा मोहन तोमर, नियति ठाकुर, प्रो. विमी रानी, प्रो. अमिता जोशी और प्रो. कमलेश शर्मा को PTA सदस्य बनाया गया। नवनिर्वाचित अध्यक्ष श्यामलाल पुंडीर ने कहा कि PTA महाविद्यालय प्रशासन और अभिभावकों के साथ मिलकर कॉलेज के विकास, कल्याण और विद्यार्थियों के हित में कार्य करेगी। उन्होंने विशेष रूप से प्रोफेशनल कोर्स करने वाले विद्यार्थियों के लिए प्लेसमेंट की बेहतर व्यवस्था की आवश्यकता पर जोर दिया। श्यामलाल पुंडीर ने कहा कि विद्यार्थियों को पढ़ाई के बाद रोजगार के बेहतर अवसर उपलब्ध करवाने के लिए सरकार के समक्ष भी यह मुद्दा उठाया जाएगा। आम सभा के बाद प्राचार्य कार्यालय में PTA की पहली बैठक आयोजित हुई, जिसमें महाविद्यालय के विकास और विद्यार्थियों से जुड़े विभिन्न महत्वपूर्ण विषयों पर चर्चा की गई। बैठक का संचालन पूर्व PTA सचिव डॉ. डी.एस. तोमर ने किया।
वहीं, राजकीय महाविद्यालय शिलाई में कार्यवाहक प्राचार्य प्रो. गोपाल भारद्वाज की अध्यक्षता में PTA बैठक आयोजित हुई। बैठक में शैक्षणिक वातावरण को मजबूत करने, विद्यार्थियों के सर्वांगीण विकास, अनुशासन, नियमित उपस्थिति तथा शैक्षणिक एवं सह-पाठ्यक्रम गतिविधियों में अभिभावकों की सहभागिता बढ़ाने पर जोर दिया गया। सर्वसम्मति से यशवंत नेगी को अध्यक्ष, चमेल सिंह को उपाध्यक्ष, प्रो. ए.आर. ठाकुर को सचिव, कुलदीप नेगी को सलाहकार तथा रतन छिंटा को कोषाध्यक्ष चुना गया। नवनिर्वाचित पदाधिकारियों ने विद्यार्थियों के हित में कॉलेज प्रशासन और शिक्षकों के साथ मिलकर कार्य करने का आश्वासन दिया। दोनों महाविद्यालयों के प्राचार्यों एवं PTA पदाधिकारियों ने अभिभावक-शिक्षक संघ को कॉलेज प्रशासन, विद्यार्थियों और अभिभावकों के बीच महत्वपूर्ण सेतु बताया। उन्होंने कहा कि आपसी संवाद और समन्वय से विद्यार्थियों की समस्याओं का समाधान करने के साथ-साथ महाविद्यालय के विकास को भी गति दी जा सकती है। बैठकों में उपस्थित सदस्यों ने विद्यार्थियों के हित, गुणवत्तापूर्ण शिक्षा और महाविद्यालय के समग्र विकास के लिए मिलकर कार्य करने का संकल्प लिया।
New PTA Executive Committees Formed at Paonta and Shillai Colleges: Focus to Remain on Student Welfare and College Development

New Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) executive committees were formed for the 2026-27 session following general body meetings held at Government College, Paonta Sahib, and Government College, Shillai. Faculty members, parents, and PTA members participated in the meetings held at both colleges. The primary objective was to ensure the active participation of parents in the academic and developmental activities of the colleges. A general body meeting had previously been convened at Government College, Paonta Sahib, on the second Saturday of the last month but had to be postponed due to a lack of the required quorum. This time, the meeting proceedings were successfully concluded following the attendance of a sufficient number of members. College Principal Dr. Jagdish Chauhan initiated the process of forming a new executive committee after dissolving the previous one; subsequently, the members unanimously constituted the new committee. For the Paonta Sahib college committee, Shyam Lal Pundir was elected President, Mahendra Kapoor as Vice-President, Dr. Sushil Tomar as Secretary, Pravesh Kumar as Joint Secretary, and Roop Singh Chauhan as Treasurer. Additionally, Mohan Tomar, Niyati Thakur, Prof. Vimi Rani, Prof. Amita Joshi, and Prof. Kamlesh Sharma were appointed as PTA members. Newly elected President Shyam Lal Pundir stated that the PTA would work in collaboration with the college administration and parents for the college's development, welfare, and the students' interests. He particularly emphasized the need for better placement arrangements for students pursuing professional courses. Pundir added that the issue of providing better post-study employment opportunities for students would also be raised with the government. Following the general body meeting, the first meeting of the PTA was held in the Principal's office, where various important matters concerning college development and student welfare were discussed. The meeting was conducted by former PTA Secretary Dr. D.S. Tomar.
Meanwhile, at Government College, Shillai, Acting Principal Prof. A PTA meeting was held under the chairmanship of Gopal Bhardwaj. The meeting emphasized strengthening the academic environment, ensuring the holistic development of students, maintaining discipline and regular attendance, and increasing parental involvement in both academic and co-curricular activities. Yashwant Negi was unanimously elected as President, Chamel Singh as Vice-President, Prof. A.R. Thakur as Secretary, Kuldeep Negi as Advisor, and Ratan Chhinta as Treasurer. The newly elected office-bearers pledged to work collaboratively with the college administration and faculty in the best interest of the students. The principals of both colleges and the PTA office-bearers described the Parent-Teacher Association as a vital bridge connecting the college administration, students, and parents. They noted that mutual dialogue and coordination could not only resolve students' issues but also accelerate the college's development. The members present at the meeting resolved to work together for the welfare of students, the provision of quality education, and the overall development of the college.
