Controversy over non-compliant number plates at BJP's torch rally; public resentment regarding the impartial enforcement of traffic rules...

A debate has intensified among citizens regarding violations of road safety and vehicle regulations during a torch rally organized by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Many two-wheelers participating in the rally were seen displaying only incomplete, two-digit numbers (such as 75 and 90) instead of the mandatory 'High-Security Registration Plates' (HSRP). Under the clear guidelines of the Motor Vehicles Act, every vehicle plying on public roads is required to display its full registration number in the prescribed standard font. Local citizens have expressed strong objection to this disregard for rules during an event organized by the ruling party. "All are equal before the law" — citizens take a firm stand, asserting that road safety laws are meant for every citizen in society, not just for any specific individual or political party. People believe that rules must be followed uniformly, whether they apply to the ruling BJP, the opposition Congress, or the general public. The use of non-compliant number plates during any political procession or demonstration is not only a violation of the law but also a matter of concern from a safety perspective.
