उपायुक्त सिरमौर प्रियंका वर्मा की अध्यक्षता में ग्राम पंचायत मिश्रवाला, पातलियों एवं बहराल तथा पुलिस अधीक्षक सिरमौर निश्चिंत सिंह नेगी की अध्यक्षता में ग्राम पंचायत पीपलीवाला एवं पुरुवाला में विशेष जागरूकता कार्यक्रम आयोजित हुए। उपायुक्त ने बताया कि अंतरराष्ट्रीय नशा निषेध दिवस के अवसर पर जिला सिरमौर में एंटी-चिट्टा ड्राइव अभियान के तहत नशीली दवाओं के दुरुपयोग एवं अवैध तस्करी के विरुद्ध व्यापक जन-जागरूकता अभियान चलाया गया। इन कार्यक्रमों के दौरान लोगों को नशे के दुष्प्रभावों तथा इसके सामाजिक, आर्थिक एवं पारिवारिक दुष्परिणामों के प्रति जागरूक किया गया। उपायुक्त ने बताया कि प्रदेश सरकार नशा कारोबारियों के प्रति जीरो टॉलरेंस की नीति पर कार्य कर रही है। इसी के दृष्टिगत जिला प्रशासन, पुलिस विभाग तथा अन्य संबंधित एजेंसियां पूर्ण सतर्कता एवं समन्वय के साथ नशे के कारोबार में संलिप्त व्यक्तियों के विरुद्ध कठोर कार्रवाई कर रही हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि नशा केवल व्यक्ति को ही नहीं, बल्कि पूरे परिवार और समाज को प्रभावित करता है, इसलिए इसके उन्मूलन के लिए सामूहिक प्रयास अत्यंत आवश्यक हैं। उन्होंने बताया कि नशीली दवाओं के दुरुपयोग एवं अवैध तस्करी के विरुद्ध जन-जागरूकता बढ़ाने तथा सामुदायिक सहभागिता को सुदृढ़ करने के उद्देश्य से जिला की चिन्हित 20 ग्राम पंचायतों में नशा निवारण समिति की विशेष बैठकों का आयोजन किया गया। इसी कड़ी में ग्राम पंचायत कालाअंब, देवनी, पुरुवाला, कुंडियों, पीपलीवाला, मिश्रवाला, मेलियों, कोटला पंजोला, डाबरी-सालवाला, अजौली, अंबोया, गोरखूवाला, कुंजा मतरालियों, नेहरपाब, शलाना, भाटांवाली, बद्रीपुर, बहराल, पातलियों तथा दिवड़ी खडांह में जिला प्रशासन के प्रशासनिक अधिकारियों की अध्यक्षता में विशेष ग्राम सभाएं आयोजित की गईं।
इन सभाओं में जनप्रतिनिधियों, स्वयं सहायता समूहों, युवा समूहों, महिला मंडलों तथा आम नागरिकों को नशीले पदार्थों के सेवन एवं अवैध तस्करी के दुष्परिणामों के प्रति जागरूक किया गया। इन कार्यक्रमों के दौरान उपायुक्त सहित विभिन्न प्रशासनिक अधिकारियों ने पंचायत प्रतिनिधियों एवं उपस्थित नागरिकों को नशामुक्त समाज के निर्माण की शपथ भी दिलाई। उन्होंने लोगों से अपने गांवों एवं पंचायतों में नशे के विरुद्ध जन-जागरूकता फैलाने तथा किसी भी प्रकार की संदिग्ध गतिविधि की सूचना तत्काल प्रशासन अथवा पुलिस को देने का आह्वान किया। उपायुक्त ने कहा कि इस अभियान का मुख्य उद्देश्य युवाओं को नशे की गिरफ्त से बचाकर उन्हें शिक्षा, खेल, स्वरोजगार तथा अन्य सकारात्मक गतिविधियों की ओर प्रेरित करना है। उन्होंने कहा कि युवाओं की ऊर्जा राष्ट्र निर्माण की सबसे बड़ी शक्ति है और उन्हें नशे जैसी सामाजिक बुराई से दूर रखना हम सभी की सामूहिक जिम्मेदारी है। उपायुक्त ने कहा कि नशे के विरुद्ध यह अभियान केवल प्रशासन का नहीं, बल्कि पूरे समाज का अभियान है। इसे जन आंदोलन का स्वरूप देने के लिए सभी विभागों, पंचायत प्रतिनिधियों, शिक्षण संस्थानों, सामाजिक संगठनों तथा आम नागरिकों का सहयोग लिया जा रहा है। उन्होंने जिला वासियों, विशेषकर युवाओं से इस अभियान में सक्रिय भागीदारी सुनिश्चित करने तथा नशा मुक्त सिरमौर एवं नशा मुक्त हिमाचल के निर्माण में अपना महत्वपूर्ण योगदान देने का आह्वान किया।

Special awareness programs were held in the Gram Panchayats of Mishrawala, Patliyon, and Bahral under the chairmanship of Sirmaur Deputy Commissioner Priyanka Verma, and in the Gram Panchayats of Pipliwala and Puruwala under the chairmanship of Sirmaur Superintendent of Police Nishchint Singh Negi. The Deputy Commissioner stated that on the occasion of the International Day Against Drug Abuse, a comprehensive public awareness campaign against drug abuse and illicit trafficking was conducted in Sirmaur district as part of the 'Anti-Chitta' drive. During these programs, people were sensitized to the harmful effects of drugs and the resulting social, economic, and familial consequences.The Deputy Commissioner noted that the state government is operating under a 'zero- tolerance' policy towards drug traffickers. In view of this, the district administration, police department, and other relevant agencies are taking strict action against individuals involved in the drug trade with full vigilance and coordination. She emphasized that drug abuse affects not only the individual but the entire family and society; therefore, collective efforts are essential for its eradication. She further mentioned that special meetings of Drug Prevention Committees were organized in 20 identified Gram Panchayats of the district to raise public awareness against drug abuse and illicit trafficking and to strengthen community participation. As part of this initiative, special Gram Sabhas were held—chaired by administrative officials from the district administration—in the Gram Panchayats of Kala-Amb, Devni, Puruwala, Kundiyon, Pipliwala, Mishrawala, Meliyon, Kotla Panjola, Dabri-Salwala, Ajauli, Amboya, Gorkhuwala, Kunja Matraliyon, Nehrpab, Shalana, Bhatanwali, Badripur, Bahral, Patliyon, and Divdi Khadanh. In these meetings, public representatives, self-help groups, youth groups, women's groups (Mahila Mandals), and general citizens were made aware of the adverse consequences of drug consumption and illicit trafficking. During these events, the Deputy Commissioner, along with various administrative officials,
administered a pledge to Panchayat representatives and citizens to build a drug-free society. They urged the public to spread awareness against drug abuse in their villages and Panchayats and to immediately report any suspicious activity to the administration or the police.The Deputy Commissioner stated that the primary objective of this campaign is to save the youth from the clutches of drug abuse and e ncourage them to engage in education, sports, self-employment, and other constructive activities. He remarked that the energy of the youth is the greatest asset for nation-building, and it is the collective responsibility of all to keep them away from social evils like drug abuse.The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that this campaign against drugs is not merely an administrative initiative but a movement involving the entire society. To transform it into a mass movement, the cooperation of all government departments, Panchayat representatives, educational institutions, social organizations, and the general public is being enlisted. He called upon the district's residents—especially the youth—to actively participate in this campaign and make a significant contribution toward creating a drug-free Sirmaur and a drug-free Himachal.
