जिला सिरमौर पुलिस ने नशा तस्करों के खिलाफ चलाए जा रहे अभियान के तहत एक बड़ी सफलता हासिल करते हुए दो आरोपियों को गिरफ्तार कर उनके कब्जे से 7.21 ग्राम चिट्टा (हेरोइन) बरामद किया है। दोनों आरोपियों के खिलाफ पुलिस थाना नाहन में नारकोटिक ड्रग्स एंड साइकोट्रोपिक सब्सटेंस (NDPS) अधिनियम के तहत मामला दर्ज कर आगे की जांच शुरू कर दी गई है। जानकारी के अनुसार, जिला सिरमौर की स्पेशल डिटेक्शन सेल, नाहन की टीम गश्त पर थी। इसी दौरान पुलिस को गुप्त सूचना मिली कि दो युवक लंबे समय से चिट्टा तस्करी में संलिप्त हैं और शुक्रवार को अल्टो कार (HP71-1726) में चंडीगढ़ से मादक पदार्थ की खेप लेकर रेणुका जी की ओर जा रहे हैं।सूचना के आधार पर पुलिस ने तुरंत कार्रवाई करते हुए लोहारड़ी स्थित वर्षा शालिका के समीप नाकाबंदी कर संदिग्ध वाहन को रोका। तलाशी के दौरान कार में सवार गौरव ठाकुर और देविंदर शर्मा, निवासी ददाहु, जिला सिरमौर के कब्जे से 7.21 ग्राम चिट्टा/हेरोइन बरामद हुई। पुलिस ने दोनों आरोपियों को मौके पर गिरफ्तार कर लिया। उनके खिलाफ पुलिस थाना नाहन में NDPS एक्ट के तहत मामला दर्ज किया गया है। पुलिस यह पता लगाने में जुटी है कि बरामद मादक पदार्थ की खेप कहां से लाई गई थी और इसे किन लोगों तक पहुंचाया जाना था। मामले में आगे की जांच जारी है

In a significant breakthrough during an ongoing campaign against drug smugglers, the Sirmaur District Police arrested two individuals and recovered 7.21 grams of 'Chitta' (heroin) from their possession. A case has been registered against both accused at the Nahan Police Station under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, and further investigation is underway. According to reports, a from the Special Detection Cell of Sirmaur District Police (Nahan) was on patrol when they received a tip-off. The information indicated that two youths, who had long been involved in 'Chitta' smuggling, were traveling from Chandigarh towards Renuka Ji on Friday in an Alto car (HP71-1726) carrying a consignment of narcotics.Acting swiftly on this information, the police set up a checkpoint near the 'Varsha Shalika' in Lohardi and intercepted the suspicious vehicle. During the search, 7.21 grams of 'Chitta'/heroin was recovered from the possession of the car's occupants—Gaurav Thakur and Devinder Sharma, both residents of Dadahu, Sirmaur district. The police arrested both accused on the spot. A case under the NDPS Act has been registered against them at the Nahan Police Station. The police are now working to determine the source of the seized narcotics and identify the intended recipients. Further investigation into the matter is ongoing.
