हिमाचल प्रदेश व्यापार मंडल के वर्तमान चेयरमैन और पांवटा साहिब के वरिष्ठ समाजसेवी डा. मदन लाल खुराना का मंगलवार को उनके पैतृक आवास पांवटा साहिब में निधन हो गया। उनके निधन से व्यापारिक और सामाजिक जगत में शोक की लहर है। डा. खुराना लंबे समय से व्यापारियों के हितों और सामाजिक कार्यों से जुड़े रहे। उन्होंने करीब 15 वर्षों तक यूथ कांग्रेस और पांच वर्षों तक मंडल कांग्रेस के प्रधान के रूप में जिम्मेदारी निभाई। राजनीति के साथ-साथ व्यापार और समाज सेवा में भी उन्होंने अपनी मजबूत पहचान बनाई। वह आठ वर्षों तक व्यापार मंडल पांवटा साहिब के अध्यक्ष और लगभग 10 वर्षों तक हिमाचल प्रदेश व्यापार मंडल के अध्यक्ष रहे।वर्तमान में वह प्रदेश व्यापार मंडल के चेयरमैन के पद पर कार्यरत थे। इसके अलावा वह भारतीय उद्योग व व्यापार मंडल के राष्ट्रीय उपाध्यक्ष, भारत-तिब्बत मैत्री समिति के प्रधान और भारत-तिब्बत मैत्री संघ पांवटा साहिब के अध्यक्ष भी रहे। सामाजिक समरसता और दलित समाज के उत्थान के क्षेत्र में भी डा. खुराना का योगदान उल्लेखनीय रहा। उन्होंने करीब तीन वर्षों तक दलित साहित्य अकादमी जिला सिरमौर के अध्यक्ष के रूप में कार्य किया।

Dr. Madan Lal Khurana, the incumbent Chairman of the Himachal Pradesh Vyapar Mandal (Traders' Association) and a prominent social worker from Paonta Sahib, passed away on Tuesday at his ancestral home in Paonta Sahib. His demise has sent a wave of grief through the business and social communities. Dr. Khurana had long been dedicated to the welfare of traders and to social causes. He served as the President of the Youth Congress for approximately 15 years and as the President of the Mandal Congress for five years. Alongside politics, he established a strong reputation in the fields of business and social service. He served as the President of the Paonta Sahib Vyapar Mandal for eight years and as the President of the Himachal Pradesh Vyapar Mandal for nearly a decade; at the time of his passing, he held the position of Chairman of the state-level Vyapar Mandal. Additionally, he served as the National Vice President of the Bharatiya Udyog-o-Vyapar Mandal, President of the India-Tibet Friendship Committee, and President of the India-Tibet Friendship Association (Paonta Sahib). Dr. Khurana also made significant contributions toward social harmony and the upliftment of the Dalit community, serving as the President of the Dalit Sahitya Akademi (Sirmaur District) for about three years.
