जगन्नाथ रथ यात्रा के दौरान पुलिस ने सतर्कता दिखाते हुए चार संदिग्ध महिलाओं को हिरासत में लिया है। प्रारंभिक जानकारी के अनुसार, इन महिलाओं पर भीड़ का फायदा उठाकर श्रद्धालु महिलाओं के सोने-चांदी के गहने चोरी करने या काटकर निकालने का प्रयास करने का संदेह है। फिलहाल पुलिस पूरे मामले की गंभीरता से जांच कर रही है। जानकारी के मुताबिक, यात्रा के दौरान एक महिला के हाथ में पहने सोने के कड़े को कटर से काटकर निकालने का प्रयास किए जाने की सूचना पुलिस को मिली। सूचना मिलते ही थाना पांवटा साहिब की स्पेशल इन्वेस्टिगेशन टीम (एसआईटी) ने तुरंत कार्रवाई करते हुए चारों संदिग्ध महिलाओं को हिरासत में ले लिया। पुलिस उनके कब्जे से मिले सामान की भी जांच कर रही है। सूत्रों के अनुसार, पूछताछ के दौरान पुलिस लगातार महिलाओं की पहचान और उनके निवास स्थान की जानकारी जुटाने का प्रयास कर रही है, लेकिन अब तक वे स्पष्ट जानकारी नहीं दे रही हैं। पुलिस इस बात की भी जांच कर रही है कि क्या इनका संबंध किसी संगठित गिरोह से है। बताया जा रहा है कि जगन्नाथ यात्रा के दौरान स्पेशल इन्वेस्टिगेशन टीम पहले से ही जेबकतरों और चोरी की घटनाओं पर नजर बनाए हुए थी। इसी सतर्कता के चलते संभावित बड़ी वारदात को समय रहते टाल दिया गया। पुलिस की इस त्वरित कार्रवाई की यात्रा आयोजकों और श्रद्धालुओं ने भी सराहना की है। एसपी सिरमौर निश्चिंत सिंह नेगी ने बताया कि थाना प्रभारी पांवटा साहिब कुलवंत सिंह के नेतृत्व में स्पेशल इन्वेस्टिगेशन टीम ने संदिग्ध महिलाओं को हिरासत में लिया है। उनसे पूछताछ की जा रही है। उन्होंने कहा कि मामले की जांच जारी है और जांच पूरी होने के बाद ही आगे की कानूनी कार्रवाई की जाएगी। पुलिस ने लोगों से भीड़भाड़ वाले आयोजनों में अपने कीमती सामान की सुरक्षा को लेकर सतर्क रहने की अपील भी की है।

Preliminary reports suggest these women are suspected of taking advantage of the crowd to steal—or attempt to steal by cutting off—gold and silver jewelry worn by female devotees. The police are currently investigating the matter seriously. According to reports, the police received information that an attempt was made to remove a gold bangle from a woman's wrist using a cutter during the procession. Acting swiftly on this information, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Paonta Sahib police station detained the four women. The police are also examining the items found in their possession. Sources indicate that while the police are attempting to ascertain the women's identities and places of residence during interrogation, the women have not yet provided clear information. The police are also investigating whether they are linked to any organized gang. It is reported that the SIT was already keeping a close watch for pickpockets and theft incidents during the Jagannath Yatra; this vigilance helped avert a potential major crime in time. Event organizers and devotees have praised the police for this prompt action. Sirmaur SP Nishchint Singh Negi stated that the SIT, led by Paonta Sahib Station House Officer (SHO) Kulwant Singh, detained the suspicious women, and questioning is currently in progress. He added that the investigation is ongoing, and further legal action will be taken only after its completion. The police have also appealed to the public to remain vigilant regarding the safety of their valuables during crowded events.
