हिमाचल प्रदेश सरकार ने स्कूलों में प्रवेश प्रक्रिया को लेकर बड़ा फैसला लिया है। मुख्यमंत्री सुखविंद्र सिंह सुक्खू ने अगले शैक्षणिक सत्र से स्कूल एडमिशन फॉर्म में जाति का कॉलम हटाने के निर्देश दिए हैं। सरकार का उद्देश्य विद्यार्थियों के बीच जातिगत पहचान के बजाय समानता और समावेश की भावना को बढ़ावा देना है। मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि विद्यार्थियों को सरकारी योजनाओं और सुविधाओं का लाभ देने के लिए आवश्यक जानकारी अलग माध्यम से उपलब्ध कराई जा सकेगी। जाति संबंधी जानकारी को पूरी तरह समाप्त करने के बजाय इसे जरूरत के अनुसार अलग प्रक्रिया के माध्यम से दर्ज किया जा सकता है। सरकार के इस फैसले को शिक्षा व्यवस्था में समानता की दिशा में एक महत्वपूर्ण कदम माना जा रहा है। अगले शैक्षणिक सत्र से स्कूलों में प्रवेश के दौरान विद्यार्थियों और अभिभावकों को नए फॉर्म में यह बदलाव देखने को मिलेगा।

Instead of eliminating caste-related data entirely, it can be recorded via a different process as and when needed.
