स्वतंत्रता दिवस के पावन अवसर पर पांवटा साहिब के रामलीला मैदान में उपमंडल स्तरीय समारोह आयोजित किया गया, जिसमें बतौर मुख्यातिथि उपमंडल अधिकारी पाँवटा साहिब द्विज गोयल ने ध्वजा-रोहण कर आकर्षक मार्चपास्ट की सलामी ली। इससे पूर्व एसडीएम द्विज गोयल ने शहीद स्मारक पर पुष्पचक्र एवं पुष्पांजलि अर्पित कर शहीदों को श्रद्धांजलि दी। एसडीएम द्विज गोयल ने अपने संबोधन में उपस्थित लोगों को 80वें स्वतंत्रता दिवस की शुभकामनाएं देते हुए कहा कि आज का दिन हर भारतीय के लिए गौरव और उल्लास का दिन है। 15 अगस्त 1947 को सदियों की गुलामी के बाद आज ही के दिन हमारा देश आज़ाद हुआ था। उन्होंने कहा कि देश की आजादी अनगिनत स्वतंत्रता सेनानियों और वीरों के त्याग एवं बलिदान का परिणाम है। उन्होंने कहा कि महात्मा गांधी, लाला लाजपत राय, भगत सिंह, चंद्रशेखर आजाद, सुभाष चंद्र बोस, सरदार वल्लभ भाई पटेल, जवाहरलाल नेहरू सहित अनेक महापुरुषों ने देश की स्वतंत्रता के लिए अपना सर्वस्व न्योछावर किया, सभी ज्ञात-अज्ञात स्वतंत्रता सेनानियों और शहीदों को नमन करते हुए कहा कि उनके बलिदान के कारण ही आज हम स्वतंत्र भारत में सांस ले रहे हैं। उन्होंने शहीदों को नमन करते हुए कहा कि “शहीदों की चिताओं पर लगेंगे हर बरस मेले, वतन पर मरने वालों का यही बाकी निशां होगा। द्विज गोयल ने कहा कि भारत आज विश्व की तेजी से आगे बढ़ती अर्थव्यवस्थाओं में शामिल है। डिजिटल इंडिया, अंतरिक्ष अभियान, स्वास्थ्य, कृषि, बुनियादी ढांचे और तकनीक सहित विभिन्न क्षेत्रों में देश ने उल्लेखनीय प्रगति की है। अंतरराष्ट्रीय मंच पर भी भारत अपनी मजबूत और प्रभावी भूमिका निभा रहा है।
उन्होंने कहा कि स्वतंत्रता दिवस हमें शिक्षा, स्वच्छता, आत्मनिर्भरता और सामाजिक समरसता को बढ़ावा देने का संकल्प लेने का अवसर देता है। हमारा लक्ष्य ऐसा भारत बनाना होना चाहिए, जहां प्रत्येक नागरिक को समान अवसर मिले और देश विकसित राष्ट्रों की अग्रणी श्रेणी में शामिल हो। उन्होंने कहा कि पांवटा साहिब उपमंडल भी विकास के नए आयाम स्थापित कर रहा है। सड़क, स्वास्थ्य, शिक्षा और आधारभूत सुविधाओं के क्षेत्र में लगातार कार्य किए जा रहे हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि प्रशासन का प्रयास है विकास की गति को और तेज करते हुए इसका लाभ समाज के प्रत्येक वर्ग तक पहुंचाया जाए। युवाओं का आह्वान करते हुए उन्होंने कहा कि वे शिक्षा एवं कौशल विकास के माध्यम से स्वयं को सशक्त बनाएं तथा नशे जैसी सामाजिक बुराइयों से दूर रहें। उन्होंने नारी शक्ति से आत्मविश्वास और क्षमता के साथ समाज को नई दिशा देने तथा युवाओं एवं विद्यार्थियों से मेहनत और लगन के साथ अपने सपनों को साकार करने का आह्वान किया। उन्होंने बुजुर्गों के अनुभव एवं मार्गदर्शन का सम्मान करने की अपील करते हुए कहा कि उनके अनुभव समाज की अमूल्य पूंजी हैं।उन्होंने सभी से सशक्त, समृद्ध और आत्मनिर्भर भारत तथा विकसित पांवटा साहिब के निर्माण में सक्रिय योगदान देने का संकल्प लेने का आह्वान किया। कार्यक्रम में शहीदों के परिजनों को सम्मानित किया गया जिसमें गाँव हलांह के शहीद कल्याण सिंह की वीरनारी, गाँव राजपुर के शहीद समीर कुमार की वीरमाता, गाँव सुरजपुर के शहीद शेर सिंह की वीरनारी, गाँव शखोली के शहीद भरत सिंह की वीर माता, गांव भरली के शहीद आषीश सिंह की वीर माता, गांव सनोग के शहीद रविन्द्र सिंह की वीरनारी, गांव बनोर के शहीद राजेन्द्र सिंह के वीर पिता शामिल रहे।
मार्चपास्ट के दौरान पांवटा साहिब के स्कॉलरस होम स्कूल, गुरुनानक मिशन स्कूल, बीकेडी स्कूल, शंकराचार्य शिशु निकेतन, नेशनल पब्लिक स्कूल, दून वैली स्कूल, रोज़ आर्चीड स्कूल, सरस्वती विद्या मंदिर, डीएवी पब्लिक स्कूल, ग्लोबल एकेडमी स्कूल, द एयरो डाइट वर्ल्ड स्कूल, पीएम श्री छात्र विद्यालय के एनसीसी तथा एनएसएस के छात्र, डिवाइन विजडम स्कूल, बीबिजित कोर स्कूल, पीएम श्री प्राथमिक विद्यालय, दुग्गल कैरियर स्कूल, जिंदल पब्लिक स्कूल, समार्ट पब्लिक स्कूल राजबन, त्रिवेणी पब्लिक स्कूल सहित सीनियर सिटीजन पांवटा साहिब तथा द स्कॉलरस होम स्कूल की बेंड टुकड़ी ने भाग लिया। कार्यक्रम के दौरान विभिन्न स्कूलों द्वारा सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रम भी प्रस्तुत किए गए। मुख्यातिथि द्वारा पांवटा साहिब क्षेत्र में धरातल स्तर पर उत्कृष्ट कार्य करने वाले व्यक्तियों, सामाजिक संगठनों सहित अधिकारियों एवं कर्मचारियों को भी सम्मानित किया गया। उन्होंने मार्चपास्ट तथा सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रम में भाग लेने वाले छात्र-छात्राओं को भी पुरस्कृत किया। इस अवसर पर डीएसपी मानवेंद्र ठाकुर, तहसीलदार मस्त राम शर्मा, निदेशक जोगिंद्रा बैंक असगर अली, अध्यक्ष ब्लॉक कांग्रेस कमेटी हरप्रीत सिंह रतन, नगर पालिका परिषद की अध्यक्षा निर्मल कौर, उपाध्यक्ष इंद्रजीत सिंह मीक्का सहित नगर पालिका परिषद के पार्षद तथा जिला परिषद् सदस्य रोहित ठाकुर, अध्यक्ष हिमोत्कर्ष जिला सिरमौर राजेन्द्र तिवारी, प्रधान व्यापार मण्डल अनिंदर सिह नोटी व विभिन्न विभागों के अधिकारियों एवम् कर्मचारियों सहित स्थानीय गणमान्य व्यक्ति, स्वयंसेवी संस्थाओं के पदाधिकारी तथा विभिन्न स्कूलों के प्रधानाचार्य तथा अध्यापक मौजूद रहे ।

A sub-division level ceremony was organized at the Ramlila Ground in Paonta Sahib to mark the auspicious occasion of Independence Day. SDM Dwij Goyal, the chief guest, hoisted the national flag and took the salute during an impressive march-past. Prior to this, SDM Goyal paid tribute to the martyrs by laying a wreath and offering floral tributes at the Martyrs' Memorial. In his address, SDM Goyal extended his best wishes to the gathering on the occasion of the 80th Independence Day, stating that this day is one of pride and joy for every Indian. He noted that it was on this day—August 15, 1947—that our country gained freedom after centuries of subjugation. He remarked that the nation's independence is the result of the sacrifices and dedication of countless freedom fighters and heroes. He recalled how great figures such as Mahatma Gandhi, Lala Lajpat Rai, Bhagat Singh, Chandrashekhar Azad, Subhash Chandra Bose, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, and Jawaharlal Nehru sacrificed everything for the country's freedom. Paying homage to all known and unknown freedom fighters and martyrs, he stated that it is because of their sacrifices that we are able to breathe freely in an independent India today. Paying tribute to the martyrs, he quoted the lines: "Fairs will be held every year on the funeral pyres of the martyrs; this alone shall remain as the legacy of those who laid down their lives for the motherland." Dwij Goyal stated that India is currently among the world's fastest-growing economies. The country has made remarkable progress across various sectors, including Digital India, space missions, health, agriculture, infrastructure, and technology. India is also playing a strong and effective role on the international stage.
He remarked that Independence Day offers an opportunity to pledge our commitment to promoting education, cleanliness, self-reliance, and social harmony. Our goal should be to build an India where every citizen enjoys equal opportunities and the country joins the ranks of leading developed nations. He noted that the Paonta Sahib subdivision is also scaling new heights of development, with continuous work underway in the areas of roads, healthcare, education, and basic amenities. He stated that the administration aims to accelerate the pace of development and ensure its benefits reach every section of society. Urging the youth to empower themselves through education and skill development, he called upon them to steer clear of social evils like drug abuse. He called upon women to guide society in a new direction with confidence and capability, and urged youth and students to realize their dreams through hard work and dedication. Appealing for respect towards the experience and guidance of the elderly, he described their experience as an invaluable asset to society. He called upon everyone to pledge their active contribution towards building a strong, prosperous, and self-reliant India, as well as a developed Paonta Sahib. During the event, the families of martyrs were honored; the honorees included the brave widow of Martyr Kalyan Singh (Village Halanah), the brave mother of Martyr Samir Kumar (Village Rajpur), the brave widow of Martyr Sher Singh (Village Surajpur), the brave mother of Martyr Bharat Singh (Village Shakholi), the brave mother of Martyr Ashish Singh (Village Bharli), the brave widow of Martyr Ravindra Singh (Village Sanog), and the brave father of Martyr Rajendra Singh (Village Banor).
During the march-past, contingents from Paonta Sahib's Scholars Home School, Guru Nanak Mission School, BKD School, and Shankaracharya Shishu... Participants included NCC and NSS students from Niketan, National Public School, Doon Valley School, Rose Orchid School, Saraswati Vidya Mandir, DAV Public School, Global Academy School, The Aerodite World School, and PM SHRI Chhatra Vidyalaya; as well as students from Divine Wisdom School, Bibi Jeet Kaur School, PM SHRI Primary School, Duggal Career School, Jindal Public School, Smart Public School (Rajban), and Triveni Public School. Senior citizens from Paonta Sahib and the band troupe from The Scholars Home School also took part. Cultural programs were presented by various schools during the event. The chief guest honored individuals, social organizations, officials, and employees who have performed outstanding work at the grassroots level in the Paonta Sahib area. Prizes were also awarded to the students who participated in the march-past and cultural programs. Dignitaries present on the occasion included DSP Manvendra Thakur, Tehsildar Mast Ram Sharma, Jogindra Bank Director Asgar Ali, Block Congress Committee President Harpreet Singh Ratan, Municipal Council President Nirmal Kaur, Vice President Inderjit Singh 'Mikka', Municipal Councilors, Zila Parishad member Rohit Thakur, Himotkarsh (Sirmaur District) President Rajendra Tiwari, Vyapar Mandal President Aninder Singh 'Noti', officials and employees from various departments, local notables, office-bearers of voluntary organizations, and principals and teachers from various schools.
