जिला सिरमौर पुलिस ने भारत सरकार के दूरसंचार विभाग के केंद्रीय उपकरण पहचान रजिस्टर (CEIR) पोर्टल का प्रभावी उपयोग करते हुए गुम एवं चोरी हुए मोबाइल फोन बरामद करने में उल्लेखनीय सफलता हासिल की है। पुलिस ने सीईआईआर पोर्टल शुरू होने के बाद से अब तक कुल 829 गुम एवं चोरी हुए मोबाइल फोन, जिनकी अनुमानित कीमत करीब एक करोड़ रुपये है, बरामद कर उनके वास्तविक मालिकों को सौंप दिया है। पुलिस के अनुसार केवल 1 जुलाई 2026 से 5 अगस्त 2026 के बीच ही 18 मोबाइल फोन बरामद कर उनके मालिकों को वापस सौंपे गए हैं। यह पहल न केवल लोगों की खोई हुई संपत्ति लौटाने में कारगर साबित हुई है, बल्कि मोबाइल फोन के दुरुपयोग पर अंकुश लगाने में भी महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभा रही है।जिला पुलिस ने बताया कि सीईआईआर पोर्टल की निरंतर निगरानी और विश्लेषण का कार्य साइबर कमांडो कांस्टेबल प्रदीप द्वारा किया जाता है। उनके विश्लेषण के आधार पर जिले के सभी पुलिस थानों के नोडल अधिकारी मोबाइल फोन की ट्रेसिंग कर उन्हें बरामद कर वास्तविक मालिकों तक पहुंचाने की कार्रवाई सुनिश्चित करते हैं। सिरमौर पुलिस ने नागरिकों से अपील की है कि मोबाइल फोन गुम होने या चोरी होने पर तुरंत निकटतम पुलिस थाना में सूचना दें तथा सीईआईआर पोर्टल पर मोबाइल को ब्लॉक करवाएं। समय पर मोबाइल ब्लॉक करने से उसके दुरुपयोग की संभावना कम होती है और बरामदगी की संभावना बढ़ जाती है। पुलिस ने लोगों को अपने मोबाइल का आईएमईआई (IMEI) नंबर सुरक्षित रखने तथा बिना स्वामित्व और आईएमईआई सत्यापन के किसी भी सेकेंड हैंड मोबाइल की खरीदारी न करने की भी सलाह दी है। जिला सिरमौर पुलिस ने कहा कि आधुनिक तकनीक के माध्यम से नागरिकों को बेहतर और प्रभावी पुलिस सेवाएं उपलब्ध कराने के लिए वह निरंतर प्रयासरत है।

Sirmaur District Police have achieved remarkable success in recovering lost and stolen mobile phones by effectively utilizing the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal of the Government of India's Department of Telecommunications. Since the launch of the CEIR portal, the police have recovered a total of 829 lost and stolen mobile phones—valued at approximately ₹1 crore—and handed them over to their rightful owners. According to the police, 18 mobile phones were recovered and returned to their owners between July 1, 2026, and August 5, 2026, alone. This initiative has proven effective not only in restoring lost property to citizens but also in curbing the misuse of mobile phones. The district police stated that the continuous monitoring and analysis of the CEIR portal are handled by Cyber Commando Constable Pradeep. Based on his analysis, nodal officers at all police stations in the district ensure the tracing and recovery of the mobile phones and their return to the rightful owners. Sirmaur Police have appealed to citizens to immediately report the loss or theft of a mobile phone to the nearest police station and to have the device blocked via the CEIR portal. Blocking the mobile phone in a timely manner reduces the risk of misuse and increases the likelihood of recovery. The police have also advised the public to keep a record of their mobile phone's IMEI number and to refrain from purchasing any second-hand mobile phone without verifying ownership and the IMEI number. Sirmaur District Police stated that they are continuously striving to provide better and more effective police services to citizens through the use of modern technology.
