उद्योग, संसदीय मामले एवं श्रम रोजगार मंत्री हर्षवर्धन चौहान ने शिलाई विधानसभा क्षेत्र के प्रवास के दौरान करीब 1.27 करोड़ रुपये की लागत से निर्मित प्राथमिक स्वास्थ्य केंद्र (पीएचसी) कांटी मशवा भवन का लोकार्पण किया। इस अवसर पर स्थानीय लोगों ने पारंपरिक वाद्य यंत्रों के साथ उनका भव्य स्वागत किया। मंत्री ने कहा कि इस स्वास्थ्य केंद्र से आसपास की तीन पंचायतों के हजारों लोगों को बेहतर स्वास्थ्य सुविधाओं का लाभ मिलेगा।
उन्होंने कहा कि प्रदेश सरकार मुख्यमंत्री ठाकुर सुखविंद्र सिंह सुक्खू के नेतृत्व में ग्रामीण और दूरदराज क्षेत्रों में स्वास्थ्य सेवाओं को सुदृढ़ बनाने के लिए लगातार कार्य कर रही है। शिलाई क्षेत्र के सभी प्राथमिक स्वास्थ्य केंद्रों में डॉक्टर और फार्मासिस्ट उपलब्ध हैं। साथ ही कमरऊ, सतौन, चांदनी और कोटा पाब में नए पीएचसी भवनों का निर्माण कार्य भी तेजी से चल रहा है।
उद्योग मंत्री ने बताया कि शिलाई विधानसभा क्षेत्र में स्वास्थ्य और सड़क अवसंरचना पर बड़े पैमाने पर निवेश किया जा रहा है। उन्होंने कहा कि करीब 19 करोड़ रुपये की लागत से 100 बिस्तरों वाला नागरिक अस्पताल शिलाई निर्माणाधीन है, जिसके पूरा होने के बाद क्षेत्र के मरीजों को विशेषज्ञ स्वास्थ्य सेवाएं स्थानीय स्तर पर ही उपलब्ध होंगी। वर्तमान में अस्पताल में प्रतिदिन 250 से 300 मरीज उपचार के लिए पहुंच रहे हैं।
कार्यक्रम के दौरान मंत्री ने क्षेत्रवासियों की समस्याएं भी सुनीं और विकास कार्यों के लिए कई घोषणाएं कीं। उन्होंने कांटी मशवा, कमरऊ और बड़वास में सामुदायिक भवनों के लिए 15-15 लाख रुपये, स्कूल पुस्तकालय के लिए 10 लाख रुपये तथा अन्य विकास कार्यों के लिए वित्तीय सहायता देने की घोषणा की। उन्होंने स्कूल की चारदीवारी और खड्ड पर पुल निर्माण का भी आश्वासन दिया।

Industries, Parliamentary Affairs, and Labour & Employment Minister Harshwardhan Chauhan inaugurated the Primary Health Centre (PHC) building at Kanti Mashwa—constructed at a cost of approximately ₹1.27 crore—during his visit to the Shillai Assembly constituency. Locals accorded him a grand welcome accompanied by traditional musical instruments. The Minister stated that this health centre would provide better healthcare facilities to thousands of people across three neighboring panchayats. He noted that the state government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, is continuously working to strengthen health services in rural and remote areas. Doctors and pharmacists are available at all Primary Health Centres in the Shillai region. Additionally, the construction of new PHC buildings in Kamrau, Sataun, Chandni, and Kota Pab is progressing rapidly.
The Industries Minister highlighted that massive investments are being made in health and road infrastructure within the Shillai Assembly constituency. He mentioned that a 100-bed Civil Hospital is under construction in Shillai at a cost of approximately ₹19 crore; once completed, patients in the area will have access to specialized healthcare services locally. Currently, between 250 and 300 patients visit the hospital daily for treatment. During the event, the Minister listened to the grievances of local residents and made several announcements regarding development works. He announced financial assistance of ₹15 lakh each for community centres in Kanti Mashwa, Kamrau, and Badwas; ₹10 lakh for a school library; and funds for other development projects. He also assured the construction of a school boundary wall and a bridge over the local ravine (khad).
