पांवटा साहिब एवं पुरुवाला की क्षेत्रीय तिब्बती युवा कांग्रेस और क्षेत्रीय तिब्बती महिला संघ के संयुक्त तत्वावधान में सोमवार को तिब्बती समुदाय ने रैली निकालकर चीन की नीतियों के खिलाफ विरोध प्रदर्शन किया। प्रदर्शन के दौरान बड़ी संख्या में महिलाओं ने मुंडन कराकर अपना विरोध दर्ज कराया और इसे तिब्बती अस्मिता की रक्षा के लिए प्रतीकात्मक कदम बताया। प्रदर्शनकारियों ने न्यूयॉर्क स्थित संयुक्त राष्ट्र मुख्यालय के सामने आत्मदाह करने वाले तिब्बती कार्यकर्ता लोबगा रांगज़ेन को श्रद्धांजलि अर्पित करते हुए उनके बलिदान को तिब्बत में कथित दमनकारी नीतियों के विरुद्ध संघर्ष का प्रतीक बताया। वक्ताओं ने कहा कि उनका बलिदान तिब्बती पहचान, संस्कृति, भाषा, धर्म और मानवाधिकारों की रक्षा के लिए जारी आंदोलन की गंभीरता को दर्शाता है। रैली के दौरान चीन के कथित “जातीय एकता एवं प्रगति कानून” का विरोध करते हुए प्रदर्शनकारियों ने आरोप लगाया कि यह कानून तिब्बती समुदाय की सांस्कृतिक, भाषाई और धार्मिक पहचान को कमजोर करने का प्रयास है। प्रदर्शनकारियों ने संयुक्त राष्ट्र और अंतरराष्ट्रीय समुदाय से तिब्बत में मानवाधिकारों की स्थिति पर हस्तक्षेप करने, चीन को कथित दमनकारी नीतियों के लिए जवाबदेह ठहराने, उक्त कानून को निरस्त करने तथा सभी तिब्बती राजनीतिक बंदियों की बिना शर्त रिहाई सुनिश्चित करने की मांग की। इस अवसर पर क्षेत्रीय तिब्बती महिला संघ की अध्यक्षा दावा डोलमा, पुरुवाला महिला संघ की अध्यक्ष ताशी बागमो, क्षेत्रीय तिब्बती युवा कांग्रेस पांवटा साहिब के अध्यक्ष टैंपा सहित तिब्बती समुदाय के अनेक सदस्य उपस्थित रहे।

On Monday, the Tibetan community held a protest rally against China's policies under the joint aegis of the Regional Tibetan Youth Congress and the Regional Tibetan Women's Association of Paonta Sahib and Puruwala. During the protest, a large number of women shaved their heads to register their dissent, describing the act as a symbolic step toward safeguarding Tibetan identity. Protesters paid tribute to Lobsang Rangzen, a Tibetan activist who had self-immolated in front of the United Nations headquarters in New York, hailing his sacrifice as a symbol of the struggle against alleged oppressive policies in Tibet. Speakers stated that his sacrifice underscores the gravity of the ongoing movement to protect Tibetan identity, culture, language, religion, and human rights. Rally participants opposed China's alleged "Law on Ethnic Unity and Progress," claiming it was an attempt to undermine the cultural, linguistic, and religious identity of the Tibetan community. They demanded that the United Nations and the international community intervene regarding the human rights situation in Tibet, hold China accountable for its alleged oppressive policies, ensure the repeal of the said law, and secure the unconditional release of all Tibetan political prisoners. Notable attendees included Dawa Dolma (President, Regional Tibetan Women's Association), Tashi Bagmo (President, Puruwala Women's Association), and Tempa (President, Regional Tibetan Youth Congress, Paonta Sahib), along with numerous members of the Tibetan community.
