देश जहां विकास और विश्व गुरु बनने की दिशा में आगे बढ़ने की बात कर रहा है, वहीं सिरमौर जिले के रेणुका क्षेत्र के तहत आने वाले कियारी गांव में आज भी ग्रामीणों और स्कूली बच्चों को बुनियादी सुविधाओं के अभाव में भारी परेशानी झेलनी पड़ रही है। लगातार हो रही बारिश के कारण उफनती नदी को पार करना मुश्किल होने से गांव के बच्चे करीब आठ दिन तक स्कूल नहीं पहुंच पाए। शुक्रवार को जब पानी कुछ कम हुआ तो अभिभावकों ने बच्चों को जान जोखिम में डालकर नदी पार करवाते हुए स्कूल भेजा। तस्वीरें बताती हैं कि किस तरह अभिभावक अपने बच्चों को उफनती नदी पार करवाने में मदद कर रहे हैं। ग्रामीणों का कहना है कि बरसात के दौरान नदी का जलस्तर बढ़ने पर गांव का संपर्क लगभग कट जाता है। शिक्षा के लिए बच्चों को इसी नदी को पार करना पड़ता है, जबकि ग्रामीणों को भी रोजमर्रा के जरूरी कार्यों के लिए गांव से बाहर जाने में इसी समस्या का सामना करना पड़ता है। ग्रामीणों के अनुसार गांव के लिए उपलब्ध अन्य वैकल्पिक मार्ग भी बंद पड़े हैं। वहीं यहां सड़क निर्माण का कार्य भी रुक गया है, जिसके चलते परेशानी और बढ़ गई है। ग्रामीणों का कहना है कि आज के समय में कियारी गांव ऐसा क्षेत्र बन गया है, जहां न तो सड़क की उचित सुविधा है और न ही नदी पर पुल की व्यवस्था। सबसे बड़ा सवाल आपात स्थिति को लेकर खड़ा होता है। यदि बरसात के दौरान गांव में कोई व्यक्ति गंभीर रूप से बीमार हो जाए या किसी को तत्काल अस्पताल पहुंचाने की जरूरत पड़े, तो उफनती नदी को पार कर उसे अस्पताल तक पहुंचाना बेहद चुनौतीपूर्ण हो सकता है। ग्रामीणों ने सरकार और प्रशासन से मांग की है कि कियारी गांव की इस समस्या का स्थायी समाधान किया जाए। सड़क निर्माण कार्य को जल्द पूरा करने के साथ नदी पर सुरक्षित पुल अथवा आवाजाही की उचित व्यवस्था की जाए, ताकि बरसात के मौसम में बच्चों की पढ़ाई बाधित न हो और ग्रामीणों को भी जान जोखिम में डालकर नदी पार न करनी पड़े।

While the nation speaks of progress and aspiring to become a 'Vishwa Guru' (global leader), villagers and schoolchildren in Kiyari—located in the Renuka region of Sirmour district—continue to face immense hardship due to a lack of basic amenities. Children from the village were unable to attend school for nearly eight days because crossing the swollen river, caused by incessant rains, had become perilous. On Friday, when the water level receded slightly, parents sent their children to school by helping them cross the river, effectively putting their lives at risk. Images show parents assisting their children in navigating the turbulent waters. Villagers state that the village becomes virtually cut off whenever the river's water level rises during the monsoon. Children must cross this river to access education, and villagers face the same obstacle when stepping out for essential daily tasks. According to the villagers, alternative routes to the village are also currently closed. Furthermore, road construction work in the area has stalled, exacerbating the difficulties. Villagers lament that Kiyari has become a place lacking both proper road connectivity and a bridge over the river. A major concern arises regarding medical emergencies; if someone falls critically ill or requires urgent hospitalization during the rainy season, transporting them across the swollen river to a hospital would be an extremely challenging ordeal. The villagers have urged the government and the administration to find a permanent solution to this problem. They are demanding the speedy completion of road construction and the provision of a safe bridge or a proper crossing mechanism, ensuring that children's education is not disrupted during the monsoon and that villagers do not have to risk their lives crossing the river.
