जिला सिरमौर में नशे के खिलाफ पुलिस की कार्रवाई लगातार जारी है। पांवटा साहिब पुलिस थाना क्षेत्र में SIU टीम ने दो अलग-अलग मामलों में तीन आरोपियों को गिरफ्तार कर उनके कब्जे से कुल 12.70 ग्राम चिट्टा (हेरोइन) बरामद किया है। पहले मामले में SIU टीम गश्त के दौरान रैनबैक्सी चौक के पास मौजूद थी। इसी दौरान पुलिस को सूचना मिली कि भूपपुर में एक पेन्टर की दुकान के पास दो व्यक्ति चिट्टा लेकर मौजूद हैं। सूचना के आधार पर पुलिस टीम मौके पर पहुंची और वहां बैठे दो व्यक्तियों की तलाशी ली। आरोपियों की पहचान कबीर सिंह निवासी दुगाणा, तहसील कमरऊ और विपिन शर्मा निवासी पाब, तहसील कमरऊ के रूप में हुई। तलाशी के दौरान दोनों के कब्जे से 5.95 ग्राम चिट्टा बरामद हुआ। पुलिस ने दोनों को गिरफ्तार कर उनके खिलाफ NDPS एक्ट के तहत मामला दर्ज किया है। वहीं, दूसरे मामले में SIU टीम को बद्रीपुर चौक के पास गश्त के दौरान सूचना मिली कि तारुवाला में फोरेस्ट ऑफिस के सामने एक व्यक्ति कथित तौर पर चिट्टा बेच रहा है। पुलिस टीम ने मौके पर पहुंचकर व्यक्ति को पकड़ा। पूछताछ में उसकी पहचान सोहन लाल निवासी फुलपुर, शिवपुर, पांवटा साहिब के रूप में हुई। तलाशी के दौरान उसके कब्जे से 6.75 ग्राम चिट्टा बरामद किया गया। दोनों मामलों में पुलिस ने कुल तीन आरोपियों को गिरफ्तार किया है। आरोपियों के खिलाफ थाना पांवटा साहिब में NDPS एक्ट के तहत मामले दर्ज कर आगामी जांच शुरू कर दी गई है।

Police action against the drug menace continues unabated in Sirmaur district. In the Paonta Sahib police station area, the SIU team arrested three accused in two separate incidents and recovered a total of 12.70 grams of 'Chitta' (heroin) from their possession. In the first incident, the SIU team was on patrol near Ranbaxy Chowk when they received information that two individuals were present near a painter's shop in Bhuppur with 'Chitta'. Acting on this information, the police team reached the spot and searched the two individuals. The accused were identified as Kabir Singh (resident of Dugana, Tehsil Kamrau) and Vipin Sharma (resident of Pab, Tehsil Kamrau). During the search, 5.95 grams of 'Chitta' were recovered from them. The police arrested both individuals and registered a case against them under the NDPS Act. In the second incident, while patrolling near Badripur Chowk, the SIU team received information that a person was allegedly selling 'Chitta' opposite the Forest Office in Taruwala. The police team reached the location and apprehended the individual. Upon questioning, he was identified as Sohan Lal (resident of Phulpur, Shivpur, Paonta Sahib). A search of his person led to the recovery of 6.75 grams of 'Chitta'. A total of three accused have been arrested across these two cases. Cases under the NDPS Act have been registered against the accused at the Paonta Sahib police station, and further investigation is underway.
