राजकीय महाविद्यालय शिलाई के इतिहास विभाग एवं राष्ट्रीय सेवा योजना (NSS) इकाई के संयुक्त तत्वावधान में आज ऑक्शन क्विज़ 2026 का प्रथम चरण लिखित परीक्षा (Written Test) सफलतापूर्वक आयोजित किया गया। कार्यक्रम का आयोजन कार्यवाहक प्राचार्य प्रो. अजय सिंह की उपस्थिति में संपन्न हुआ। इस अवसर पर इतिहास विभागाध्यक्ष सहायक आचार्य प्रो. रविंद्र कुमार एवं राष्ट्रीय सेवा योजना की कार्यक्रम अधिकारी सहायक आचार्या प्रो. रंजना चौहान के मार्गदर्शन में तथा कार्यक्रम अधिकारी एवं सहायक आचार्य प्रो. यशपाल शर्मा के नेतृत्व में प्रतियोगिता का सफल संचालन किया गया। प्रतियोगिता में महाविद्यालय के विभिन्न संकायों एवं कक्षाओं से कुल 53 विद्यार्थियों ने उत्साहपूर्वक भाग लिया। लिखित परीक्षा में विद्यार्थियों के सामान्य ज्ञान, समसामयिक घटनाओं, इतिहास, विज्ञान, साहित्य, राजनीति, भूगोल, हिमाचल प्रदेश एवं अन्य विषयों से संबंधित प्रश्न पूछे गए। प्रतियोगिता के परिणामों में बी.ए. द्वितीय वर्ष के छात्र ऋतिक ने 300 में से 170 अंक प्राप्त कर प्रथम स्थान हासिल किया। बी.ए. अंतिम वर्ष के छात्र रिंकू ने 135 अंक प्राप्त कर द्वितीय स्थान प्राप्त किया। वहीं तृतीय स्थान संयुक्त रूप से एम.ए. द्वितीय वर्ष के छात्र प्रियांश राणा तथा एम.ए. प्रथम वर्ष के छात्र अखिल ने 130-130 अंक प्राप्त कर हासिल किया।
महाविद्यालय में आयोजित यह ऑक्शन क्विज़ एक अभिनव एवं रोचक प्रतियोगिता है, जिसमें प्रारंभिक लिखित परीक्षा के बाद विभिन्न विभागों द्वारा ऑक्शन (बोली प्रक्रिया) के माध्यम से विद्यार्थियों का चयन कर अपनी-अपनी टीमें बनाई जाएंगी। इसके पश्चात चयनित टीमों के मध्य रैपिड फायर राउंड आयोजित होगा, जिसके आधार पर श्रेष्ठ टीमें फाइनल ऑडियो-विजुअल टेबल क्विज़ के लिए चयनित की जाएंगी। अंतिम चरण में इतिहास, सामान्य ज्ञान, विज्ञान, समसामयिक घटनाओं, खेल, संगीत, हिमाचल प्रदेश एवं अन्य विषयों पर आधारित रोचक ऑडियो-विजुअल राउंड आयोजित किए जाएंगे।कार्यक्रम के अंत में आयोजकों ने सभी प्रतिभागियों को उत्कृष्ट प्रदर्शन के लिए बधाई देते हुए आगामी चरणों में भी पूरे उत्साह एवं तैयारी के साथ भाग लेने के लिए प्रेरित किया। उन्होंने कहा कि इस प्रकार की नवाचार आधारित प्रतियोगिताएँ विद्यार्थियों के ज्ञान, तार्किक क्षमता, आत्मविश्वास, टीम भावना एवं स्वस्थ प्रतिस्पर्धा की भावना को विकसित करने में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाती हैं।

The first phase—a written test—of the 'Auction Quiz 2026' was successfully conducted today under the joint aegis of the History Department and the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Government College, Shillai. The event took place in the presence of Acting Principal Prof. Ajay Singh. The competition was successfully managed under the guidance of the Head of the History Department, Assistant Professor Prof. Ravindra Kumar, and NSS Programme Officer Assistant Professor Prof. Ranjana Chauhan, and under the leadership of Programme Officer and Assistant Professor Prof. Yashpal Sharma. A total of 53 students from various streams and classes of the college participated in the competition with great enthusiasm. The written test featured questions covering general knowledge, current affairs, history, science, literature, politics, geography, Himachal Pradesh, and other subjects. In the results, Hrithik (B.A. 2nd Year) secured the first position by scoring 170 out of 300 marks. Rinku (B.A. Final Year) secured the second position with 135 marks. Meanwhile, the third position was jointly shared by Priyansh Rana (M.A. 2nd Year) and Akhil (M.A. 1st Year), both scoring 130 marks.
This 'Auction Quiz' is an innovative and engaging competition; following the preliminary written test, various departments will select students through an auction process to form their respective teams. Subsequently, a 'rapid-fire round' will be held among the selected teams, based on which the best-performing teams will be chosen for the final audio-visual table quiz. In the final stage, engaging audio-visual rounds based on history, general knowledge, science, current affairs, sports, music, Himachal Pradesh, and other subjects will be conducted. At the conclusion of the event, the organizers congratulated all the participants on their excellent performance and encouraged them to take part in the upcoming stages with full enthusiasm and preparation. They remarked that such innovation-driven competitions play a vital role in fostering students' knowledge, logical reasoning, self-confidence, team spirit, and a sense of healthy competition.
