सिरमौर जिला में लंपी वायरस का प्रकोप लगातार बढ़ता जा रहा है। पांवटा साहिब क्षेत्र में अब तक 689 पशु लंपी रोग की चपेट में आ चुके हैं, जबकि बीमारी से मरने वाले पशुओं की संख्या बढ़कर छह हो गई है। स्थिति को देखते हुए पशुपालन विभाग ने युद्ध स्तर पर वैक्सीनेशन और फॉगिंग अभियान शुरू कर दिया है। पांवटा साहिब के वरिष्ठ पशु चिकित्सा अधिकारी डॉ. अमित महाजन ने बताया कि बॉर्डर एरिया में लंपी रोग का प्रभाव सबसे अधिक देखने को मिल रहा है। पांवटा साहिब में सामने आए 689 मामलों में से 402 पशु स्वस्थ हो चुके हैं, जबकि 280 मामले अभी सक्रिय हैं। बीमारी से छह पशुओं की मौत हुई है। उन्होंने बताया कि लंपी रोग की रोकथाम के लिए सिरमौर जिला को 13000 हजार वैक्सीन की खेप उपलब्ध हुई है जिनमें से अब तक करीब 3600 पशुओं का टीकाकरण किया जा चुका है। टीकाकरण यैसे क्षेत्रों में किया जा रहा है जहाँ पर अभी तक लंपी रोग के कोई मामले सामने नहीं आए है विभाग की टीमें अन्य क्षेत्रों में भी तेजी से वैक्सीनेशन और फॉगिंग का कार्य कर रही हैं। डॉ. महाजन ने पशुपालकों से अपील की कि वे पशुशालाओं और आसपास के क्षेत्र में साफ-सफाई का विशेष ध्यान रखें। बीमारी के लक्षण दिखाई देने पर संक्रमित पशु को तुरंत स्वस्थ पशुओं से अलग कर आइसोलेट करें। उन्होंने बाहरी क्षेत्रों से आने वाले पशुओं पर भी विशेष नजर रखने तथा संदिग्ध पशुओं को तुरंत अलग रखने की सलाह दी। पशुपालन विभाग ने किसानों और डेयरी संचालकों से आग्रह किया है कि लंपी रोग की रोकथाम के लिए विभाग की टीमों का सहयोग करें और पशुओं में बीमारी के लक्षण नजर आने पर तत्काल पशु चिकित्सकों को इसकी सूचना दें।

The outbreak of the Lumpy virus continues to escalate in the Sirmaur district. So far, 689 animals in the Paonta Sahib area have contracted the disease, and the death toll has risen to six. In response to the situation, the Animal Husbandry Department has launched vaccination and fogging drives on a war footing. Dr. Amit Mahajan, Senior Veterinary Officer at Paonta Sahib, stated that the impact of the disease is most pronounced in the border areas. Of the 689 cases reported in Paonta Sahib, 402 animals have recovered, while 280 cases remain active; six animals have succumbed to the disease. He mentioned that a consignment of 13,000 vaccine doses has been received for the Sirmaur district, and approximately 3,600 animals have been vaccinated so far. Vaccination is being prioritized in areas where no cases of the disease have yet been reported, while departmental teams are also rapidly conducting vaccination and fogging operations in other regions. Dr. Mahajan urged livestock owners to maintain strict hygiene in their animal sheds and the surrounding areas. He advised that if symptoms appear, infected animals should be immediately isolated from healthy ones. He also recommended keeping a close watch on animals arriving from outside the area and immediately isolating any suspected cases. The Animal Husbandry Department has appealed to farmers and dairy operators to cooperate with departmental teams in controlling the disease and to immediately inform veterinarians if any symptoms are observed in their animals.
