हिमाचल में ‘सुख की सरकार’ नहीं, ‘बोझ की सरकार’ बनी कांग्रेस: राकेश जमवाल

शिमला: हिमाचल प्रदेश भाजपा के मुख्य प्रवक्ता एवं विधायक राकेश जमवाल ने पेट्रोल और हाई स्पीड डीजल पर 60 पैसे प्रति लीटर अनाथ एवं विधवा सेस लगाए जाने को लेकर प्रदेश की कांग्रेस सरकार पर तीखा हमला बोला है। उन्होंने आरोप लगाया कि सरकार लगातार नए टैक्स और सेस लगाकर आम जनता की जेब पर आर्थिक बोझ बढ़ा रही हैराकेश जमवाल ने कहा कि कांग्रेस सरकार ने वर्ष 2023 में दो बार डीजल पर वैट बढ़ाया था। जनवरी में डीजल पर वैट करीब 4.40 रुपये से बढ़ाकर 7.40 रुपये प्रति लीटर किया गया और जुलाई में इसमें फिर 3 रुपये की बढ़ोतरी कर दी गई। अब 11 अगस्त की मध्यरात्रि से पेट्रोल और हाई स्पीड डीजल पर 60 पैसे प्रति लीटर नया सेस लागू किया गया है। भाजपा नेता ने कहा कि विधानसभा से पारित वैट संशोधन कानून सरकार को इस मद में अधिकतम 5 रुपये प्रति लीटर तक सेस लगाने की शक्ति देता है।जमवाल ने कहा कि डीजल महंगा होने का असर सिर्फ वाहन चालकों तक सीमित नहीं रहेगा। हिमाचल जैसे पहाड़ी राज्य में अधिकतर जरूरी सामान सड़क मार्ग से पहुंचता है, इसलिए ईंधन की कीमत बढ़ने से फल-सब्जियों, राशन, सीमेंट, सरिया और अन्य वस्तुओं की ढुलाई लागत भी बढ़ सकती है। उन्होंने सीमेंट पर एडिशनल गुड्स टैक्स को 11 से बढ़ाकर 16 रुपये प्रति बैग किए जाने का भी आरोप लगाया।भाजपा नेता ने कहा कि अनाथ बच्चों और विधवाओं के कल्याण के लिए सरकार की योजनाओं का भाजपा समर्थन करती है, लेकिन इसके लिए पूरे प्रदेश की जनता पर नया सेस लगाने के बजाय सरकार को अपने वित्तीय प्रबंधन में सुधार करना चाहिए। उन्होंने पेट्रोल-डीजल पर लगाए गए 60 पैसे प्रति लीटर सेस पर पुनर्विचार करने की मांग करते हुए कहा कि जनता को राहत देने के बजाय कांग्रेस सरकार लगातार उसकी जेब पर बोझ बढ़ा रही है। जमवाल ने तंज कसते हुए कहा कि कांग्रेस इसे ‘सुख की सरकार’ कहती है, जबकि हकीकत में यह ‘बोझ की सरकार’ बन चुकी है।

Shimla: Rakesh Jamwal, Chief Spokesperson of the Himachal Pradesh BJP and MLA, has launched a scathing attack on the state's Congress government over the imposition of a 60-paise-per-litre cess—designated for orphans and widows—on petrol and high-speed diesel. He alleged that the government is continuously increasing the financial burden on the common people by levying new taxes and cesses. Jamwal noted that the Congress government had raised the VAT on diesel twice in 2023; the VAT was increased from approximately ₹4.40 to ₹7.40 per litre in January, followed by another hike of ₹3 in July. Now, effective from the midnight of August 11, a new cess of 60 paise per litre has been imposed on petrol and high-speed diesel. The BJP leader pointed out that the VAT amendment act passed by the Legislative Assembly empowers the government to levy a cess of up to ₹5 per litre under this head. Jamwal stated that the impact of costlier diesel would not be limited to vehicle owners alone. In a hilly state like Himachal, most essential goods are transported by road; therefore, rising fuel prices could increase the transportation costs for fruits, vegetables, rations, cement, steel bars, and other commodities. He also highlighted the hike in the additional goods tax on cement from ₹11 to ₹16 per bag. The BJP leader affirmed that while the party supports government schemes for the welfare of orphans and widows, the government should improve its financial management rather than imposing a new cess on the entire population. Demanding a reconsideration of the 60-paise-per-litre cess on petrol and diesel, he remarked that instead of providing relief to the public, the Congress government is continuously adding to their financial burden. Jamwal quipped that while Congress calls this a ‘Government of Happiness’ (*Sukh ki Sarkar*), in reality, it has become a ‘Government of Burden’ (*Bojh ki Sarkar*).
