धर्मशाला में हो हाईकोर्ट की बेंच : शांता कुमार कांगड़ा-चंबा के लोगों को मिलेगा लाभ

पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री शांता कुमार ने केंद्र सरकार से हिमाचल प्रदेश हाईकोर्ट की एक बेंच धर्मशाला में स्थापित करने की मांग की है। उन्होंने कहा कि हिमाचल भी एक पहाड़ी राज्य है और कांगड़ा-चंबा जैसे दूरदराज के क्षेत्रों के लोगों को शिमला स्थित हाईकोर्ट पहुंचने में काफी कठिनाइयों का सामना करना पड़ता है। उन्होंने मुख्यमंत्री सुखविंदर सिंह सुक्खू से भी इस मांग को केंद्र सरकार के समक्ष रखने का आग्रह किया। शांता कुमार ने कहा कि केंद्र सरकार ने कश्मीर हाईकोर्ट की एक बेंच लद्दाख में स्थापित करने की अनुमति दी है, जिससे वहां के लोगों के लिए न्याय प्राप्त करना आसान होगा। इसी तर्ज पर हिमाचल में भी धर्मशाला में हाईकोर्ट की बेंच स्थापित की जानी चाहिए। उन्होंने कहा कि कांगड़ा-चंबा से शिमला की दूरी करीब 400 किलोमीटर है और खराब सड़क एवं यातायात व्यवस्था के कारण लोगों को आने-जाने में परेशानी होती है। उन्होंने कहा कि समय पर न्याय नहीं मिल पाना भी एक तरह का अन्याय है। बरसात में प्रदेश में सड़कों, पुलों और रास्तों को हुए नुकसान से लोगों की मुश्किलें और बढ़ गई हैं। शांता कुमार ने उम्मीद जताई कि केंद्र सरकार धर्मशाला में हाईकोर्ट की बेंच स्थापित करने की मांग पर सहानुभूतिपूर्वक विचार करेगी।

Former Chief Minister Shanta Kumar has urged the Central Government to establish a bench of the Himachal Pradesh High Court in Dharamshala. He noted that Himachal is a hilly state, and residents of remote areas like Kangra and Chamba face significant difficulties in reaching the High Court located in Shimla. He also requested Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu to take up this demand with the Central Government. Shanta Kumar pointed out that the Centre has approved the establishment of a Kashmir High Court bench in Ladakh, which will make it easier for the local people to access justice; a similar High Court bench should be established in Dharamshala for Himachal. He highlighted that the distance between Kangra-Chamba and Shimla is approximately 400 kilometers, and poor road and transport conditions cause travel difficulties for the public. He remarked that the failure to secure timely justice amounts to a form of injustice itself. Recent damage to roads, bridges, and pathways across the state due to the monsoon rains has further compounded the hardships faced by the people. Shanta Kumar expressed hope that the Central Government would sympathetically consider the demand for setting up a High Court bench in Dharamshala.
