भाजपा नेता एवं पूर्व मंत्री वीरेंद्र कंवर ने कांग्रेस सरकार की नीतियों और चुनावी वादों को लेकर प्रदेश सरकार पर निशाना साधा। जिला मुख्यालय के सर्किट हाउस में पत्रकार वार्ता के दौरान उन्होंने आरोप लगाया कि कांग्रेस ने वर्ष 2022 के विधानसभा चुनाव से पहले महिलाओं, युवाओं, किसानों और अन्य वर्गों से कई वादे किए थे, लेकिन सत्ता में आने के बाद इन्हें पूरा नहीं किया गया। वीरेंद्र कंवर ने महिलाओं को हर महीने 1500 रुपये देने के वादे का मुद्दा उठाते हुए कहा कि सरकार ने पहले महिलाओं से फॉर्म भरवाए और अब नई योजना व शर्तों के नाम पर दोबारा प्रक्रिया शुरू की जा रही है। उन्होंने आर्थिक सर्वेक्षण 2025-26 का हवाला देते हुए दावा किया कि सरकार ने पांच लाख महिलाओं को करीब 800 करोड़ रुपये की लागत से लाभ देने की बात कही थी, जबकि वास्तविक रूप से केवल 35,687 महिलाओं को ही इसका लाभ मिल सका। उन्होंने कहा कि कई महिलाओं को सिर्फ एक किस्त मिली और कुछ मामलों में राशि वापस भी करवाई गई। पूर्व मंत्री ने मुख्यमंत्री अपना परिवार सुखी परिवार योजना में जोड़ी गई नई शर्तों पर भी सवाल उठाए। उन्होंने सरकार से वर्ष 2024 में महिलाओं से भरवाए गए फॉर्मों में से स्वीकृत और रद्द आवेदनों तथा पेंशन का लाभ पाने वाली महिलाओं की संख्या का स्पष्ट आंकड़ा सार्वजनिक करने की मांग की। कंवर ने कहा कि प्रदेश की जनता और मातृशक्ति अब सरकार की कथनी और करनी के अंतर को समझ चुकी है और आगामी चुनाव में जनता अपने मत के माध्यम से इसका जवाब देगी।

BJP leader and former minister Virender Kanwar targeted the state government over its policies and election promises. During a press conference at the Circuit House in the district headquarters, he alleged that the Congress had made numerous promises to women, youth, farmers, and other sections of society prior to the 2022 assembly elections but failed to fulfill them after coming to power. Raising the issue of the promise to provide ₹1,500 per month to women, Kanwar noted that the government had initially collected forms from women, yet the process is now being restarted under the guise of a new scheme and fresh conditions. Citing the Economic Survey 2025-26, he claimed that while the government had spoken of benefiting five lakh women at a cost of approximately ₹800 crore, in reality, only 35,687 women actually received the benefit. He stated that many women received only a single installment, and in some instances, the money was even recovered. The former minister also questioned the new conditions introduced in the 'Mukhyamantri Apna Parivar Sukhi Parivar Yojana'. He demanded that the government make public the clear figures regarding the applications approved and rejected—out of the forms collected from women in 2024—as well as the number of women receiving pension benefits. Kanwar asserted that the people of the state, and women in particular, have now understood the gap between the government's words and deeds, and the public will respond through their votes in the upcoming elections.
