शहर की सड़कों पर वर्षों पुराने टेंपो आज भी बड़ी संख्या में यात्रियों को ढो रहे हैं। ऐसे में इन वाहनों की सुरक्षा और नियमों के पालन को लेकर गंभीर सवाल उठने लगे हैं। क्या सभी टेंपो के पास वैध फिटनेस प्रमाणपत्र, वैध बीमा, परमिट और अन्य आवश्यक दस्तावेज मौजूद हैं? क्या इनकी समय-समय पर तकनीकी जांच की जाती है? ये ऐसे सवाल हैं जिनका जवाब संबंधित विभागों के पास होना चाहिए। कुछ टेंपो निर्धारित क्षमता से अधिक सवारियां लेकर चलते दिखाई देते हैं, जिससे दुर्घटना का खतरा और बढ़ जाता है। यदि कोई वाहन बिना वैध फिटनेस, बीमा या अन्य आवश्यक दस्तावेजों के संचालित हो रहा है, अथवा क्षमता से अधिक सवारियां ढो रहा है, तो दुर्घटना की स्थिति में यात्रियों की सुरक्षा और मुआवजे को लेकर गंभीर प्रश्न खड़े हो सकते हैं। आरटीओ सिरमौर से मांग की गई है कि पांवटा साहिब में संचालित सभी टेंपो का विशेष जांच अभियान चलाया जाए। फिटनेस, बीमा, परमिट, प्रदूषण प्रमाणपत्र (PUC), यात्री क्षमता और अन्य आवश्यक दस्तावेजों की गहन जांच कर नियमों का उल्लंघन करने वाले वाहनों के विरुद्ध नियमानुसार सख्त कार्रवाई की जाए, ताकि यात्रियों की सुरक्षा सुनिश्चित हो सके।

Tempos that are years old continue to ferry large numbers of passengers on the city's roads. Consequently, serious questions are being raised regarding the safety of these vehicles and their compliance with regulations. Do all these tempos possess valid fitness certificates, insurance, permits, and other necessary documentation? Are they subjected to periodic technical inspections? These are questions that the concerned departments ought to be able to answer. Some tempos are observed carrying passengers beyond their prescribed capacity, thereby increasing the risk of accidents. If a vehicle operates without valid fitness certification, insurance, or other essential documents—or carries passengers in excess of its capacity—serious issues regarding passenger safety and compensation could arise in the event of an accident. A demand has been made to the RTO (Regional Transport Office) of Sirmaur to launch a special inspection drive for all tempos operating in Paonta Sahib. It is urged that a thorough check of fitness, insurance, permits, Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificates, passenger capacity, and other mandatory documents be conducted, and that strict action be taken against non-compliant vehicles in accordance with the law to ensure passenger safety.
