Former Indian all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin has hinted that former England captain Eoin Morgan could be a strong contender for the role. CSK recently parted ways with long-serving coach Stephen Fleming, and the franchise is now on the lookout for a successor. Speaking on his YouTube channel, Ashwin mentioned that he feels Eoin Morgan could join CSK, noting that his name is being strongly discussed. However, he clarified that it is not yet certain whether Morgan would take charge this year or join at a later date. According to Ashwin, one possibility is that someone else could build the squad for the upcoming mini-auction, with Morgan stepping into the coaching role later. While Morgan lacks experience as a head coach in international or franchise cricket, he is highly respected for his strategic acumen, having captained England to their maiden 50-over World Cup victory in 2019.
