हिमाचल प्रदेश के जिला सिरमौर के दूरदराज गिरिपार क्षेत्र (तहसील शिलाई) के गांव भटोड़ी (झकांडो) के रहने वाले यश शर्मा को नीट (NEET) काउंसलिंग के जरिए डॉ. पंडित जवाहर लाल नेहरू राजकीय मेडिकल कॉलेज, चंबा में एमबीबीएस (MBBS) की सीट आवंटित हुई है। बीते कल हिमाचल प्रदेश स्वास्थ्य विभाग द्वारा जारी की गई पहली काउंसलिंग ऑलॉटमेंट लिस्ट में यश का नाम आते ही उनके परिवार और पूरे गिरिपार क्षेत्र में खुशी की लहर दौड़ गई है। यश शर्मा की प्रारंभिक शिक्षा नाहन स्थित कार्मल कॉन्वेंट स्कूल से 10वीं कक्षा तक हुई। इसके बाद उन्होंने अपनी उच्च माध्यमिक (12वीं) की पढ़ाई और NEET की प्रतियोगी परीक्षा की तैयारी 'करियर अकादमी, नाहन' से हासिल की। यश की लगन और मेहनत का अंदाजा इसी बात से लगाया जा सकता है कि उनका चयन पिछले वर्ष भी नीट परीक्षा के माध्यम से हो गया था। हालांकि, उस समय उन्हें दूर रायपुर का मेडिकल कॉलेज आवंटित हो रहा था, जिसके चलते परिजनों ने उन्हें वहां नहीं भेजा। इसके बाद यश ने हार नहीं मानी और एक वर्ष और अधिक एकाग्रता के साथ अपनी तैयारी जारी रखी, जिसका परिणाम अब चंबा मेडिकल कॉलेज में चयन के रूप में सामने आया है। अपनी इस शानदार सफलता का श्रेय यश शर्मा ने अपने माता-पिता के अटूट सहयोग और करियर अकादमी के गुरुजनों के कुशल मार्गदर्शन को दिया है।
यश शर्मा की यह सफलता उनके सुशिक्षित और अनुशासित पारिवारिक माहौल की भी देन है। उनके पिता लाल सिंह शर्मा शिक्षा विभाग में मुख्य शिक्षक (CHT) के पद पर सेवारत हैं, जबकि उनकी माता अंजू शर्मा एक कुशल गृहिणी हैं। परिवार के अन्य सदस्य भी उच्च शिक्षा के क्षेत्रों में अपनी पहचान बना रहे हैं; यश के बड़े भाई गौरव शर्मा दिल्ली में ज़ूलॉजी विभाग (Department of Zoology) में बतौर सीनियर शोधकर्ता (Senior Researcher) कार्यरत हैं, वहीं उनकी बड़ी बहन गरिमा शर्मा लवली प्रोफेशनल यूनिवर्सिटी (LPU) से कानून (Law) की पढ़ाई कर रही हैं। कड़ी मेहनत और धैर्य की मिसाल कायम करने वाले यश शर्मा के इस चयन पर उनके परिजनों, रिश्तेदारों, करियर अकादमी के गुरुजनों और पूरे गिरिपार क्षेत्र के निवासियों ने उन्हें हार्दिक बधाई दी है। स्थानीय प्रबुद्ध लोगों का कहना है कि यश की यह सफलता क्षेत्र के अन्य युवाओं के लिए भी प्रेरणास्रोत बनेगी।

Yash Sharma, a resident of Bhatodi (Jhakando) village in the remote Giripar region (Shillai Tehsil) of Sirmaur district, Himachal Pradesh, has been allotted an MBBS seat at Dr. Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Government Medical College, Chamba, through NEET counseling. A wave of joy swept through his family and the entire Giripar region when his name appeared in the first counseling allotment list released yesterday by the Himachal Pradesh Health Department. Yash Sharma completed his early education up to the 10th grade at Carmel Convent School in Nahan. Subsequently, he pursued his higher secondary (12th grade) studies and prepared for the NEET competitive examination at 'Career Academy, Nahan'. Yash's dedication and hard work are evident from the fact that he had actually qualified for admission through the NEET exam the previous year as well. However, at that time, he was allotted a medical college in distant Raipur, so his family decided against sending him there. Undeterred, Yash continued his preparations with even greater focus for another year, a perseverance that has now culminated in his selection for Chamba Medical College. Yash attributes this magnificent success to the unwavering support of his parents and the expert guidance of the mentors at Career Academy.
Yash Sharma's success is also a reflection of his well-educated and disciplined family environment. His father, Lal Singh Sharma, serves as a Chief Head Teacher (CHT) in the Education Department, while his mother, Anju Sharma, is a capable homemaker. Other family members are also making their mark in the field of higher education; Yash's elder brother, Gaurav Sharma, works as a Senior Researcher in the Department of Zoology in Delhi, while his elder sister, Garima Sharma, is pursuing a law degree at Lovely Professional University (LPU). Yash Sharma, who has set an example of hard work and patience, has received heartfelt congratulations on his selection from his family members, relatives, mentors at the Career Academy, and residents of the entire Giripar region. Local prominent citizens believe that Yash's success will serve as a source of inspiration for other youths in the area.
