प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी और रूस के राष्ट्रपति व्लादिमीर पुतिन के बीच 11 सितंबर को नई दिल्ली में अहम द्विपक्षीय बैठक होने जा रही है। क्रेमलिन के प्रवक्ता दिमित्री पेस्कोव ने मंगलवार को इसकी पुष्टि करते हुए कहा कि दोनों नेता बैठक में सबसे पहले भारत-रूस के द्विपक्षीय एजेंडे पर चर्चा करेंगे। यह मुलाकात 18वें BRICS शिखर सम्मेलन के दौरान होगी। बैठक में दोनों देशों के बीच व्यापार, आर्थिक सहयोग और रणनीतिक संबंधों के साथ रूस के Su-57 लड़ाकू विमानों की भारत को बिक्री का मुद्दा भी उठ सकता है। पेस्कोव ने बताया कि Su-57 की बिक्री बैठक के एजेंडे में शामिल है। हालांकि, भारत की ओर से अभी इस संबंध में कोई आधिकारिक प्रतिक्रिया सामने नहीं आई है।12 और 13 सितंबर को होगा BRICS सम्मेलन 18वां BRICS शिखर सम्मेलन 12 और 13 सितंबर को नई दिल्ली के भारत मंडपम में आयोजित किया जाएगा। भारत ने 1 जनवरी 2026 को BRICS की अध्यक्षता संभाली थी। सम्मेलन में सदस्य देशों के राष्ट्राध्यक्षों के अलावा आमंत्रित देशों के प्रतिनिधि और वरिष्ठ अधिकारी भी हिस्सा लेंगे।
यूक्रेन युद्ध और वैश्विक मुद्दों पर भी बातचीत मोदी और पुतिन की बैठक में यूक्रेन युद्ध और वैश्विक शांति से जुड़े मुद्दों पर भी चर्चा होने की संभावना है। प्रधानमंत्री मोदी पहले भी रूस-यूक्रेन संघर्ष का शांतिपूर्ण समाधान निकालने और युद्ध समाप्त करने की जरूरत पर भारत का रुख स्पष्ट कर चुके हैं। भारत लगातार बातचीत और कूटनीति के जरिए विवादों के समाधान का समर्थन करता रहा है।Su-57 पर क्यों है नजर? रूस का Su-57 पांचवीं पीढ़ी का स्टील्थ लड़ाकू विमान है। भारत के लिए इसकी संभावित खरीद वायुसेना की भविष्य की लड़ाकू क्षमता के लिहाज से महत्वपूर्ण मानी जा रही है। हालांकि, अभी यह स्पष्ट नहीं है कि मोदी-पुतिन की बैठक में किसी औपचारिक रक्षा समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर होंगे या केवल विमान की बिक्री के प्रस्ताव पर चर्चा होगी।

A crucial bilateral meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin is scheduled to take place in New Delhi on September 11. Confirming this on Tuesday, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that the two leaders would first discuss the India-Russia bilateral agenda. This meeting will coincide with the 18th BRICS Summit. Discussions are expected to cover trade, economic cooperation, and strategic ties, as well as the potential sale of Russia's Su-57 fighter jets to India. Peskov indicated that the sale of the Su-57 is part of the meeting's agenda; however, there has been no official response from India regarding this matter so far. The 18th BRICS Summit will be held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on September 12 and 13. India assumed the BRICS presidency on January 1, 2026. In addition to the heads of state from member nations, representatives from invited countries and senior officials will also participate in the summit.
Talks on the Ukraine War and Global Issues: The meeting between Modi and Putin is also likely to address the Ukraine war and issues related to global peace. Prime Minister Modi has previously articulated India's stance on the need for a peaceful resolution to the Russia-Ukraine conflict and an end to the war. India has consistently advocated for resolving disputes through dialogue and diplomacy. Why the focus on the Su-57? Russia's Su-57 is a fifth-generation stealth fighter jet. Its potential acquisition is considered significant for the future combat capabilities of the Indian Air Force. However, it is not yet clear whether a formal defense agreement will be signed during the Modi-Putin meeting or if only the proposal for the sale of the aircraft will be discussed.
