हिमाचल प्रदेश सरकार की नशे के खिलाफ अपनाई गई 'जीरो टॉलरेंस' नीति के तहत चलाए जा रहे राज्यव्यापी एंटी-चिट्टा जन-आंदोलन को शुक्रवार को एक और बड़ी सफलता मिली। अंतर्राष्ट्रीय नशा निषेध एवं अवैध तस्करी निवारण दिवस के अवसर पर पूरे प्रदेश में 'एंटी-चिट्टा दिवस' मनाते हुए एनडीपीएस अधिनियम के तहत जब्त किए गए करोड़ों रुपये मूल्य के नशीले पदार्थों को नष्ट किया गया। प्रदेश स्तर पर मुख्य सचिव, पुलिस महानिदेशक (DGP) और अतिरिक्त पुलिस महानिदेशक (सीआईडी) की वर्चुअल उपस्थिति में इंसिनरेटर के माध्यम से जब्त मादक पदार्थों का सुरक्षित निस्तारण किया गया। इस अभियान में जिला सिरमौर पुलिस ने भी महत्वपूर्ण कार्रवाई करते हुए विभिन्न मामलों में जब्त भारी मात्रा में नशीले पदार्थों को नष्ट किया। सिरमौर पुलिस द्वारा नष्ट की गई केस प्रॉपर्टी में 11.508 किलोग्राम चरस, 3704 नशीली गोलियां एवं कैप्सूल तथा 71.020 किलोग्राम चूरा पोस्त शामिल है। इन मादक पदार्थों का अंतरराष्ट्रीय बाजार में अनुमानित मूल्य 54 लाख 26 हजार 600 रुपये आंका गया है। पुलिस अधिकारियों ने बताया कि इस कार्रवाई का उद्देश्य ड्रग माफिया, तस्करों और नशा कारोबार से जुड़े असामाजिक तत्वों को स्पष्ट संदेश देना है कि प्रदेश में नशे के कारोबार को किसी भी कीमत पर बर्दाश्त नहीं किया जाएगा। साथ ही युवाओं को चिट्टा और अन्य सिंथेटिक ड्रग्स की गिरफ्त से बचाने के लिए अभियान लगातार जारी रहेगा। पुलिस ने प्रदेशवासियों से अपील की है कि यदि कहीं भी चिट्टा या अन्य मादक पदार्थों की तस्करी, बिक्री, भंडारण अथवा सेवन से संबंधित कोई जानकारी मिले तो तुरंत 112 या निकटतम पुलिस थाने को सूचित करें। सूचना देने वाले व्यक्ति की पहचान पूरी तरह गोपनीय रखी जाएगी तथा प्राप्त सूचना पर त्वरित कानूनी कार्रवाई की जाएगी।

The state-wide 'Anti-Chitta' (anti-synthetic drug) public movement—driven by the Himachal Pradesh government's 'zero-tolerance' policy against drugs—achieved another major success on Friday. Marking 'Anti-Chitta Day' on the occasion of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, narcotics worth crores of rupees, seized under the NDPS Act, were destroyed across the state. At the state level, the seized contraband was safely disposed of via incinerators in the virtual presence of the Chief Secretary, Director General of Police (DGP), and Additional Director General of Police (CID). As part of this campaign, the Sirmaur District Police also undertook significant action, destroying a large quantity of narcotics seized in various cases. The case property destroyed by the Sirmaur Police included 11.508 kg of charas (cannabis resin), 3,704 intoxicating pills and capsules, and 71.020 kg of poppy husk. The estimated value of these narcotics in the international market is ₹54,26,600. Police officials stated that the objective of this action is to send a clear message to the drug mafia, smugglers, and anti-social elements involved in the drug trade that the narcotics business will not be tolerated in the state at any cost. Furthermore, the campaign to protect the youth from the grip of 'Chitta' and other synthetic drugs will continue unabated. The police have appealed to the residents of the state to immediately inform the authorities—by dialing 112 or contacting the nearest police station—if they receive any information regarding the smuggling, sale, storage, or consumption of 'Chitta' or other narcotics. The identity of the informant will be kept strictly confidential, and prompt legal action will be taken based on the information provided.
