14वें दलाई लामा के 91वें जन्मदिवस पर छोटा शिमला स्थित तिब्बतन स्कूल परिसर में भव्य समारोह आयोजित किया गया। कार्यक्रम में लोक निर्माण एवं शहरी विकास मंत्री विक्रमादित्य सिंह मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में शामिल हुए। समारोह की शुरुआत सामूहिक प्रार्थना, दीप प्रज्ज्वलन और केक काटकर दलाई लामा के दीर्घायु एवं उत्तम स्वास्थ्य की कामना के साथ हुई। इस दौरान मेधावी विद्यार्थियों को सम्मानित किया गया और हेपेटाइटिस-बी स्क्रीनिंग अभियान का शुभारंभ भी किया गया। अपने संबोधन में मंत्री ने युवाओं में बढ़ते नशे, महिलाओं के खिलाफ अपराध, सोशल मीडिया के दुरुपयोग और विद्यार्थियों के मानसिक स्वास्थ्य पर चिंता जताई। उन्होंने कहा कि विद्यालयों में नैतिक शिक्षा, साइबर जागरूकता और पर्यावरण संरक्षण के प्रति विद्यार्थियों को जागरूक करना समय की आवश्यकता है। साथ ही विकास और पर्यावरण संरक्षण के बीच संतुलन बनाए रखने पर भी जोर दिया। उन्होंने कहा कि दलाई लामा के करुणा, अहिंसा और मानवता के संदेश ने हिमाचल, विशेषकर धर्मशाला को विश्वभर में अलग पहचान दिलाई है। मंत्री ने पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री जवाहरलाल नेहरू द्वारा दलाई लामा को भारत में शरण देने के फैसले को भारतीय संस्कृति की उदार परंपरा का प्रतीक बताया। उन्होंने अपने पिता एवं पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री वीरभद्र सिंह और दलाई लामा के आत्मीय संबंधों का भी उल्लेख किया।समारोह में तिब्बती समुदाय के प्रतिनिधियों, गणमान्य नागरिकों, विद्यार्थियों और स्थानीय लोगों ने बड़ी संख्या में भाग लिया। सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रमों में विद्यार्थियों और विभिन्न तिब्बती शिविरों के कलाकारों ने आकर्षक प्रस्तुतियां दीं। कार्यक्रम के अंत में मुख्य अतिथि ने सांस्कृतिक दलों के लिए 31 हजार रुपये की प्रोत्साहन राशि की घोषणा की तथा सभी से दलाई लामा के शांति, सहिष्णुता और मानवता के संदेश को अपने जीवन में अपनाने का आह्वान किया।

A grand ceremony was organized at the Tibetan School complex in Chhota Shimla to mark the 91st birthday of the 14th Dalai Lama. Public Works and Urban Development Minister Vikramaditya Singh attended the event as the chief guest. The celebration commenced with collective prayers, the lighting of a ceremonial lamp, and the cutting of a cake, accompanied by wishes for the Dalai Lama's longevity and good health. During the event, meritorious students were honored, and a Hepatitis-B screening campaign was launched. In his address, the Minister expressed concern regarding rising substance abuse among the youth, crimes against women, the misuse of social media, and the mental health of students. He stated that raising student awareness about moral education, cyber safety, and environmental conservation is the need of the hour. He also emphasized the importance of maintaining a balance between development and environmental protection. He noted that the Dalai Lama's message of compassion, non-violence, and humanity has earned Himachal—and Dharamshala in particular—a distinct global identity. The Minister described former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru's decision to grant asylum to the Dalai Lama in India as a symbol of the generous tradition of Indian culture. He also recalled the close bond shared by his father, former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, and the Dalai Lama. Representatives of the Tibetan community, prominent citizens, students, and local residents participated in the event in large numbers. Students and artists from various Tibetan settlements gave captivating cultural performances. At the conclusion of the program, the chief guest announced an incentive of ₹31,000 for the cultural troupes and urged everyone to incorporate the Dalai Lama's message of peace, tolerance, and humanity into their lives.
