पांच महीने में 76 वॉल्वो बसों के चालान, 15 लाख से अधिक जुर्माना

हिमाचल प्रदेश परिवहन विभाग के धर्मशाला उड़नदस्ता दल ने नियमों की अनदेखी कर प्रदेश में संचालित निजी वॉल्वो बसों के खिलाफ कार्रवाई की है। एक अप्रैल से 31 अगस्त तक कांगड़ा, चंबा, ऊना और हमीरपुर जिलों में चलाए गए जांच अभियान के दौरान 76 वॉल्वो बसों के चालान किए गए। इन मामलों में परिवहन विभाग ने 15 लाख रुपये से अधिक का जुर्माना लगाया है। जांच के दौरान कुछ बसों के बिना परमिट संचालन, राज्य कर का भुगतान न करने और यात्री सूची नहीं रखने समेत अन्य अनियमितताएं सामने आईं। आरटीओ उड़नदस्ता कांगड़ा असीम सूद ने बताया कि बाहरी राज्यों से हिमाचल आने वाली बसों को भी प्रदेश के नियमों का पालन करना अनिवार्य है। उन्होंने कहा कि परमिट, राज्य कर, यात्री सूची और अन्य आवश्यक दस्तावेजों की नियमित जांच की जा रही है। विभाग की ओर से निजी वॉल्वो बसों पर निगरानी आगे भी जारी रहेगी और नियमों की लगातार अनदेखी करने वाले संचालकों के खिलाफ नियमानुसार कड़ी कार्रवाई की जाएगी। जरूरत पड़ने पर बस को कब्जे में लेने सहित अन्य कार्रवाई का भी प्रावधान है।

The Dharamshala flying squad of the Himachal Pradesh Transport Department has taken action against private Volvo buses operating in the state in violation of regulations. During an inspection drive conducted from April 1 to August 31 across the districts of Kangra, Chamba, Una, and Hamirpur, 76 Volvo buses were issued challans. The Transport Department has imposed fines totaling over ₹15 lakh in these cases. Inspections revealed various irregularities, including buses operating without permits, non-payment of state taxes, and failure to maintain passenger manifests. Aseem Sood, RTO (Flying Squad) Kangra, stated that buses entering Himachal from other states are also mandatory required to comply with local regulations. He noted that regular checks are being conducted regarding permits, state taxes, passenger lists, and other essential documents. The department will continue to monitor private Volvo buses, and strict action—in accordance with the rules—will be taken against operators who persistently disregard regulations. Provisions exist for further measures, including the impounding of buses, should the need arise.
