 राजकीय महाविद्यालय शिलाई के इतिहास विभाग एवं राष्ट्रीय सेवा योजना (NSS) इकाई के संयुक्त तत्वावधान में ऑक्शन क्विज़-2026 के द्वितीय चरण ‘डिपार्टमेंटल ऑक्शन’ का आयोजन किया गया। कार्यक्रम कार्यवाहक प्राचार्य प्रो. गोपाल भारद्वाज की उपस्थिति में संपन्न हुआ। इतिहास विभागाध्यक्ष सहायक आचार्य प्रो. रविंद्र कुमार, NSS कार्यक्रम अधिकारी सहायक आचार्या प्रो. रंजना चौहान के मार्गदर्शन तथा कार्यक्रम अधिकारी एवं सहायक आचार्य प्रो. यशपाल शर्मा के नेतृत्व में ऑक्शन प्रक्रिया करवाई गई। प्रतियोगिता के प्रथम चरण की लिखित परीक्षा में चयनित विद्यार्थियों को दूसरे चरण में विभिन्न विभागों ने बोली प्रक्रिया के माध्यम से अपनी-अपनी क्विज़ टीमों के लिए खरीदा। विद्यार्थियों के चयन को लेकर विभागों के बीच रोचक और प्रतिस्पर्धात्मक बोली देखने को मिली। ऑक्शन में हिंदी विभाग ने एमए प्रथम वर्ष के छात्र अखिल को 90 हजार रुपये, जबकि राजनीति विज्ञान विभाग ने बीए द्वितीय वर्ष के छात्र ऋतिक को 90 हजार रुपये की बोली लगाकर अपनी टीम में शामिल किया। वहीं राष्ट्रीय सेवा योजना (NSS) ने एमए द्वितीय वर्ष के छात्र ठाकुर प्रियांश राणा को 75 हजार रुपये में टीम के लिए चयनित किया। अखिल और ऋतिक इस ऑक्शन के सबसे महंगे प्रतिभागी रहे।

द्वितीय चरण के प्रदर्शन के आधार पर Department of English ने 375 अंक हासिल कर प्रथम तथा Department of Economics ने 360 अंक के साथ द्वितीय स्थान प्राप्त किया। दोनों विभागों ने सीधे प्रतियोगिता के अंतिम ‘ऑडियो/विजुअल टेबल क्विज़’ राउंड में प्रवेश सुनिश्चित कर लिया है। वहीं अन्य चयनित टीमों को फाइनल में पहुंचने के लिए Rapid-Fire Round की चुनौती से गुजरना होगा। इस चरण में प्रत्येक टीम से 10 प्रश्न पूछे जाएंगे और उत्तर देने के लिए दो मिनट का समय मिलेगा। बेहतर प्रदर्शन करने वाली चार टीमें फाइनल में पहुंचेंगी और पहले से चयनित इंग्लिश तथा इकोनॉमिक्स विभाग की टीमों के साथ अंतिम मुकाबले में उतरेंगी। ऑक्शन क्विज़-2026 का अंतिम चरण ‘Audio/Visual Table Quiz’ होगा। इसमें इतिहास, सामान्य ज्ञान, विज्ञान, समसामयिक घटनाओं, खेल, संगीत, हिमाचल प्रदेश सहित विभिन्न विषयों पर आधारित ऑडियो-विजुअल प्रश्न पूछे जाएंगे। आयोजकों ने सभी प्रतिभागियों एवं विभागीय टीमों को बधाई देते हुए आगामी रैपिड-फायर और फाइनल राउंड के लिए शुभकामनाएं दीं। उन्होंने कहा कि इस तरह की नवाचार आधारित प्रतियोगिताएं विद्यार्थियों में ज्ञान के साथ-साथ त्वरित निर्णय क्षमता, तार्किक सोच, आत्मविश्वास, टीम भावना और स्वस्थ प्रतिस्पर्धा की भावना विकसित करने में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाती हैं।

The second round of 'Auction Quiz-2026'—titled the 'Departmental Auction'—was organized under the joint aegis of the History Department and the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Government College, Shillai. The event concluded in the presence of Acting Principal Prof. Gopal Bhardwaj. The auction process was conducted under the guidance of the Head of the History Department, Assistant Professor Prof. Ravindra Kumar, and NSS Programme Officer Assistant Professor Prof. Ranjana Chauhan, and under the leadership of Programme Officer and Assistant Professor Prof. Yashpal Sharma. Students selected in the written examination (the first round) were 'purchased' by various departments for their respective quiz teams through a bidding process. An interesting and competitive bidding war was witnessed among the departments regarding the selection of students. In the auction, the Hindi Department secured MA first-year student Akhil for ₹90,000, while the Political Science Department recruited BA second-year student Hrithik for ₹90,000. Meanwhile, the National Service Scheme (NSS) selected MA second-year student Thakur Priyansh Rana for its team for ₹75,000. Akhil and Hrithik emerged as the most expensive participants in this auction.

Based on their performance in the second round, the Department of English secured first place with 375 points, and the Department of Economics took second place with 360 points. Both departments have secured direct entry into the competition's final round—the 'Audio/Visual Table Quiz'. Meanwhile, the other selected teams must face the challenge of a 'Rapid-Fire Round' to reach the finals. In this round, 10 questions will be asked of each team, and they will have two minutes to answer. The four best-performing teams will advance to the finals to compete against the English and Economics department teams that have already qualified. The final stage of Auction Quiz-2026 will be the 'Audio/Visual Table Quiz'. Audio-visual questions covering various subjects—such as history, general knowledge, science, current affairs, sports, music, and Himachal Pradesh—will be asked during the event. The organizers congratulated all participants and departmental teams, extending their best wishes for the upcoming rapid-fire and final rounds. They remarked that such innovation-driven competitions play a vital role in fostering not only knowledge but also quick decision-making skills, logical thinking, self-confidence, team spirit, and a sense of healthy competition among students.
