राजकीय वरिष्ठ माध्यमिक पाठशाला तारुवाला का मुख्य गेट इन दिनों हादसों के संभावित ब्लैक स्पॉट के रूप में सामने आ रहा है। स्कूल के ठीक साथ पांवटा-शिलाई राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग गुजरने और गेट के पास खड़ी चढ़ाई व तीखे मोड़ के चलते विद्यार्थियों की सुरक्षा को लेकर चिंता बढ़ गई है। इसी गंभीर समस्या को लेकर सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता हेमराज ने उपमंडलाधिकारी पांवटा साहिब को ज्ञापन सौंपकर स्कूल के मुख्य गेट के पास स्थायी रूप से ट्रैफिक पुलिस जवान तैनात करने की मांग की है। उन्होंने बताया कि तारुवाला स्कूल में 700 से अधिक विद्यार्थी शिक्षा ग्रहण कर रहे हैं। सुबह स्कूल शुरू होने और दोपहर छुट्टी के समय बड़ी संख्या में छात्र-छात्राएं हाईवे पार करते हैं, जबकि इसी दौरान सड़क पर वाहनों का दबाव भी काफी बढ़ जाता है। स्थानीय लोगों के अनुसार स्कूल गेट के पास वाहनों की गति नियंत्रित करने के लिए पर्याप्त इंतजाम नहीं हैं। यहां न तो स्पीड ब्रेकर है और न ही विद्यार्थियों को सावधान करने वाला बड़ा साइन बोर्ड। तेज रफ्तार ट्रक, ट्रैक्टर और दोपहिया वाहनों के बीच बच्चों का सड़क पार करना जोखिम भरा बना हुआ है। कई बार अभिभावकों को खुद सड़क पर खड़े होकर यातायात नियंत्रित करना पड़ता है। सीबीएसई की मान्यता मिलने के बाद स्कूल में विद्यार्थियों और अभिभावकों की आवाजाही बढ़ने से स्थिति और चुनौतीपूर्ण हो गई है। निजी वाहनों की संख्या बढ़ने के कारण स्कूल गेट के पास जाम और अव्यवस्था की स्थिति भी पैदा हो जाती है, जिसका असर राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग के यातायात पर पड़ता है। लोगो का बताया कि पिछले कुछ महीनों में 4-5 बार बच्चे हादसे की चपेट में आने से बाल-बाल बचे हैं। लोगों ने प्रशासन से मांग की है कि किसी बड़े हादसे से पहले स्कूल गेट पर ट्रैफिक पुलिस की स्थायी तैनाती, स्पीड ब्रेकर, चेतावनी बोर्ड और अन्य सुरक्षा इंतजाम किए जाएं।

The main gate of Government Senior Secondary School, Taruwala, is emerging as a potential accident black spot. Concerns regarding student safety have mounted due to the Paonta-Shillai National Highway running right next to the school, combined with a steep incline and a sharp curve near the gate. Addressing this serious issue, social activist Hemraj submitted a memorandum to the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Paonta Sahib, demanding the permanent deployment of traffic police personnel near the school's main gate. He noted that over 700 students study at Taruwala School. Large numbers of students cross the highway during morning arrival and afternoon dismissal times—periods when vehicular traffic on the road is also at its peak. According to locals, there are inadequate measures to control vehicle speed near the school gate; there are neither speed breakers nor large warning signs to alert drivers. Children face significant risk while crossing the road amidst speeding trucks, tractors, and two-wheelers. Parents often have to stand on the road themselves to manage traffic. The situation has become even more challenging due to increased footfall of students and parents following the school's CBSE affiliation. The rise in private vehicles leads to traffic jams and chaos near the school gate, which in turn impacts traffic flow on the National Highway. Residents reported that children have narrowly escaped accidents four or five times in recent months. They have urged the administration to implement safety measures—such as permanent traffic police deployment, speed breakers, and warning boards—before a major accident occurs.
