शिलाई क्षेत्र के लिए यह गर्व का विषय है कि हिमाचल प्रदेश के विभिन्न जिलों से चयनित 20 प्रतिभाशाली महिला कबड्डी खिलाड़ियों ने आधिकारिक रूप से शिलाई गर्ल्स स्पोर्ट्स हॉस्टल में प्रवेश ले लिया है। अब इन खिलाड़ियों को एक ही परिसर में आवास, भोजन, उच्च स्तरीय प्रशिक्षण तथा खेल संबंधी सभी आवश्यक सुविधाएं उपलब्ध कराई जाएंगी। प्रदेशभर से 20 खिलाड़ियों का शिलाई हॉस्टल के लिए चयन इस बात का प्रमाण है कि शिलाई आज महिला कबड्डी की प्रतिभाओं का प्रमुख केंद्र बन चुका है। क्षेत्र की कई बेटियों ने राष्ट्रीय और अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर उत्कृष्ट प्रदर्शन कर न केवल सिरमौर बल्कि पूरे हिमाचल प्रदेश का नाम रोशन किया है। इनमें प्रियंका नेगी, रितु नेगी, पुष्पा राणा, सुषमा शर्मा और साक्षी शर्मा जैसी खिलाड़ियों का विशेष योगदान रहा है।इस उपलब्धि के अवसर पर क्षेत्र के खेल प्रेमियों ने स्वर्गीय हीरा सिंह ठाकुर (पीईटी) को श्रद्धांजलि अर्पित करते हुए उनके योगदान को याद किया। उन्होंने शिलाई में कबड्डी की मजबूत नींव रखी, जिसके परिणामस्वरूप अनेक प्रतिभाशाली खिलाड़ी राष्ट्रीय स्तर तक पहुंचीं। वहीं ग्यार सिंह नेगी के वर्षों के समर्पित प्रयासों को भी इस सफलता का महत्वपूर्ण आधार माना जा रहा है। उनके मार्गदर्शन और खेलों के प्रति समर्पण ने शिलाई की बेटियों को नई पहचान दिलाने में अहम भूमिका निभाई। हॉस्टल में रण सिंह (पीईटी) अस्थायी कोच तथा पवन नेगी अस्थायी वार्डन के रूप में अपनी सेवाएं देंगे। उनके मार्गदर्शन में खिलाड़ी आधुनिक प्रशिक्षण और अनुशासित माहौल में अपनी खेल प्रतिभा को और निखार सकेंगी। क्षेत्रवासियों ने उम्मीद जताई है कि शिलाई गर्ल्स स्पोर्ट्स हॉस्टल भविष्य में महिला कबड्डी की नई राष्ट्रीय और अंतरराष्ट्रीय खिलाड़ी तैयार करेगा तथा शिलाई की खेल परंपरा को नई ऊंचाइयों तक पहुंचाएगा।
Shillai Emerges as a Hub for Women's Kabaddi; 20 Players from Across the State Enrolled in Sports Hostel

It is a matter of pride for the Shillai region that 20 talented female kabaddi players, selected from various districts of Himachal Pradesh, have officially enrolled in the Shillai Girls' Sports Hostel. These players will now be provided with accommodation, meals, high-level training, and all necessary sports-related facilities within the same complex. The selection of these 20 players from across the state for the Shillai hostel stands as proof that Shillai has now become a major center for women's kabaddi talent. Many daughters of the region have brought glory not only to Sirmaur but to the entire state of Himachal Pradesh through their outstanding performances at national and international levels. Players such as Priyanka Negi, Ritu Negi, Pushpa Rana, Sushma Sharma, and Sakshi Sharma have made significant contributions in this regard. On the occasion of this achievement, sports enthusiasts from the region paid tribute to the late Hira Singh Thakur (PET) and recalled his contributions. He laid a strong foundation for kabaddi in Shillai, enabling numerous talented players to reach the national level. Meanwhile, the years of dedicated effort by Gyar Singh Negi are also considered a crucial foundation for this success; his guidance and dedication to sports played a pivotal role in earning the daughters of Shillai a new identity. Ran Singh (PET) will serve as the temporary coach, and Pawan Negi as the temporary warden at the hostel. Under their guidance, the players will be able to further hone their sporting talent within an environment of modern training and discipline. Local residents have expressed hope that the Shillai Girls' Sports Hostel will produce new national and international-level female kabaddi players in the future and elevate Shillai's sporting legacy to new heights.
