Sirmaur: Jamna School’s Impressive Feat Without a PET/DPE; Three Players Selected for State-Level Volleyball Team...
Sabse Tez Khabar/ Shillai
Three players from Government Senior Secondary School, Jamna (located in the Mastbhoj area of Kafota subdivision, Sirmaur district), have secured spots in the Sirmaur district volleyball team for the state-level competition following an outstanding performance. The school's players—Manshu, Nitesh Dhiman, and Pranav—will now represent Sirmaur at the state-level Under-14 volleyball tournament to be held in Rajgarh. Notably, Manshu has been entrusted with the responsibility of captaining the district team. The Jamna school team had previously secured first place in the Under-14 volleyball category at the district-level competition, leading to the selection of these three players for the district squad. Interestingly, all three selected players hail from Mashu village and practice volleyball together while studying in the same class. Their achievement has brought joy to the school, the Mastbhoj region, and the Kafota education block. A welcome ceremony was organized at the school to mark their selection; the players were welcomed with garlands, and team coach Joginder Shastri was also honored. Acting Principal Ramesh Chauhan extended his best wishes to the players for the state-level competition and a bright future. He also announced a cash incentive of ₹501 for each selected player from his personal funds. A remarkable aspect of this achievement is that the posts of Physical Education Teacher (PET) and Director of Physical Education (DPE) have remained vacant at the school for several years. Despite this, through the guidance of young teachers and the students' hard work, the team has progressed from the block level to the district level and now to the state level. The team first triumphed at the block level, leading to the selection of four players for the district level. Following their excellent performance in the district competition, three players have now earned a place in the state-level team. SMC members and spokespersons Subhash Thakur, Mandeep Rana, Mukesh Shastri, Atma Ram Chauhan, Devdutt Sharma, and Sundar Chauhan; Acting CHT Ramesh Sharma and Rahul Rajput; teachers Sangeeta Sharma, Vidya Devi, and Bimla Devi; as well as Dinesh Bhardwaj, Joginder Shastri, Shalini, Anil Kumar, Ajay Dhiman, Manisha, and Aarti were present on this occasion.
