उप-मंडलीय पशु चिकित्सालय पांवटा साहिब, जिला सिरमौर की ओर से श्वानों (कुत्तों) की बढ़ती आबादी को नियंत्रित करने के उद्देश्य से 21 से 25 अक्तूबर 2026 तक एनिमल बर्थ कंट्रोल (एबीसी) अभियान चलाया जा रहा है। अभियान का शुभारंभ बुधवार को उपमंडलाधिकारी पांवटा साहिब द्विज गोयल ने उप-मंडलीय पशु चिकित्सालय परिसर में किया। वरिष्ठ पशु चिकित्सा अधिकारी डॉ. अमित महाजन ने बताया कि इस अभियान के तहत श्वानों की आबादी को मानवीय और वैज्ञानिक तरीके से नियंत्रित करने के लिए आवश्यक कदम उठाए जाएंगे। उन्होंने कहा कि पशु जन्म नियंत्रण कार्यक्रम आवारा श्वानों की संख्या को नियंत्रित करने के साथ-साथ उनके बेहतर प्रबंधन में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाता है। उन्होंने बताया कि अभियान का उद्देश्य श्वानों की बढ़ती आबादी पर नियंत्रण पाने के साथ पशु कल्याण को बढ़ावा देना है। इसके लिए निर्धारित अवधि के दौरान अभियान से संबंधित गतिविधियां संचालित की जाएंगी। अभियान के शुभारंभ अवसर पर नगर परिषद की कार्यकारी अधिकारी कंचन बाला, रोटरी क्लब के अध्यक्ष यशपाल धीमान, पार्षद रविंद्र सिंह सहित संबंधित अधिकारी, पशु प्रेमी और आम नागरिक उपस्थित रहे।

To control the growing dog population, an Animal Birth Control (ABC) campaign is being conducted from October 21 to 25, 2026, by the Sub-Divisional Veterinary Hospital in Paonta Sahib, District Sirmaur. The campaign was inaugurated on Wednesday by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Paonta Sahib, Dwij Goyal, on the premises of the Sub-Divisional Veterinary Hospital. Senior Veterinary Officer Dr. Amit Mahajan stated that, under this initiative, necessary measures will be taken to manage the dog population in a humane and scientific manner. He noted that the animal birth control program plays a crucial role in regulating the number of stray dogs and ensuring their better management. He further explained that the objective of the campaign is to curb the rising dog population while simultaneously promoting animal welfare. Various activities related to the campaign will be carried out throughout the designated period. The inauguration was attended by the Executive Officer of the Municipal Council, Kanchan Bala; Rotary Club President, Yashpal Dhiman; Councilor Ravindra Singh; as well as other relevant officials, animal welfare enthusiasts, and members of the general public.
