अंबाला साइबर क्राइम थाना पुलिस ने ई-वॉलेट और डिजिटल बैंकिंग सुरक्षा के नाम पर लोगों से ठगी करने वाले अंतरराज्यीय गिरोह का पर्दाफाश करते हुए तीन आरोपियों को गिरफ्तार किया है। आरोपियों ने केवाईसी अपडेट कराने और बैंक खाता बंद होने का डर दिखाकर अंबाला निवासी एक व्यक्ति से 7 लाख 10 हजार रुपये की ठगी की थी। गिरफ्तार आरोपियों में सिरमौर के दो युवक और पंचकूला का एक व्यक्ति शामिल है। पुलिस के अनुसार अंबाला के रंजीत नगर निवासी चंद्रिका प्रसाद ने 19 सितंबर को साइबर थाने में शिकायत दर्ज करवाई थी। शिकायत में बताया गया कि 25 अगस्त से 16 सितंबर के बीच उन्हें अलग-अलग नंबरों से फोन आए। फोन करने वालों ने खुद को पेटीएम प्रतिनिधि बताते हुए कहा कि उनकी केवाईसी अधूरी है और समय पर अपडेट न कराने पर बैंक खाता स्थायी रूप से ब्लॉक हो जाएगा। ठगों के झांसे में आए पीड़ित से आरोपियों ने अलग-अलग समय पर फर्जी क्यूआर कोड के माध्यम से रकम ट्रांसफर करवाई। इस तरह आरोपियों ने कुल 7 लाख 10 हजार रुपये अपने खातों में जमा करवा लिए। धोखाधड़ी का पता चलने के बाद पीड़ित ने पुलिस से शिकायत की। शिकायत के आधार पर साइबर पुलिस ने कॉल डिटेल, आईपी एड्रेस और बैंक लेनदेन की तकनीकी जांच शुरू की। जांच के बाद पुलिस ने तीन आरोपियों को गिरफ्तार किया। इनकी पहचान बलबीर सिंह निवासी करनपुर, पिंजौर (पंचकूला), राजेश निवासी नौहराधार (सिरमौर) और प्रदीप निवासी राजगढ़ (सिरमौर) के रूप में हुई है। पुलिस के मुताबिक बलबीर सिंह गिरोह का मुख्य आरोपी है और उसके खिलाफ पंचकूला में धोखाधड़ी व साइबर क्राइम के चार मामले पहले से दर्ज हैं। पुलिस रिमांड के दौरान आरोपियों के कब्जे से ठगी में इस्तेमाल की गई बैंक पासबुक, एटीएम कार्ड, चेक बुक और 20 हजार रुपये नकद बरामद किए गए। रिमांड अवधि पूरी होने के बाद तीनों को अदालत में पेश किया गया, जहां से उन्हें न्यायिक हिरासत में भेज दिया गया। पुलिस अब गिरोह से जुड़े अन्य लोगों और फर्जी बैंक खातों के नेटवर्क की जांच कर रही है।

The Ambala Cyber Crime Police have arrested three accused after busting an inter-state gang that defrauded people under the pretext of e-wallet and digital banking security. The accused had swindled ₹7.10 lakh from an Ambala resident by creating fear regarding KYC updates and the potential permanent blocking of his bank account. The arrested individuals include two youths from Sirmaur and one person from Panchkula. According to the police, Chandrika Prasad, a resident of Ranjit Nagar, Ambala, lodged a complaint at the cyber police station on September 19. The complaint stated that between August 25 and September 16, he received calls from various numbers. The callers identified themselves as Paytm representatives and claimed his KYC was incomplete, warning that his bank account would be permanently blocked if not updated on time. Falling for the fraudsters' ploy, the victim transferred money via fake QR codes at different times. In this manner, the accused managed to get a total of ₹7.10 lakh deposited into their accounts. Upon realizing he had been defrauded, the victim reported the matter to the police. Based on the complaint, the cyber police initiated a technical investigation involving call details, IP addresses, and bank transactions. Following the investigation, the police arrested the three accused. They have been identified as Balbir Singh (resident of Karanpur, Pinjore/Panchkula), Rajesh (resident of Nohradhar/Sirmaur), and Pradeep (resident of Rajgarh/Sirmaur). According to the police, Balbir Singh is the gang's ringleader, and four cases of fraud and cybercrime are already registered against him in Panchkula. During police remand, items used in the fraud—including bank passbooks, ATM cards, and chequebooks—along with ₹20,000 in cash, were recovered from the accused. Upon the completion of the remand period, the three were produced in court and subsequently sent to judicial custody. The police are now investigating other individuals linked to the gang and the network of fake bank accounts.
